To the abbot of Dunfermelin in the diocese of St. Andrews. Mandate, if he find the facts to be as stated, to confirm the donation, made by the late king William to the Augustinian abbot and convent of Inchcolm (insula S. Columbe de Emonia) in the diocese of Dunkeld, and confirmed by authority of the ordinary, of the patronage of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Dalgathy in the said diocese, and of the church itself and its annexed chapel de Bechto and lands, by virtue of which they have had the said vicarage governed by one of their canons at the pleasure of the abbot from time immemorial, except that John Bullok, priest, of the said diocese, has unduly detained possession of the said vicarage for some years, all right to which vicarage he has, however, resigned this day to the pope by his proctor John de Brilon, clerk, of the diocese of Cologne (Colonien). To the abbot of Balmurinogh in the diocese of St. Andrews. Mandate, at the petition of abbot Walter and the Benedictine convent of Abirbrothoc in the same diocese (containing that after the abbots and convent had for many years held for their own uses, with all its obventions, oblations, tithes and appurtenances, the parish church of Syvy (sic) in the diocese of Aberdeen, which is of their patronage and in whose parish they have from of old the right of taking all tithes of sheaves, and had caused it to be served by a fit priest in accordance with an ordinance made by the ordinary, the abbot and convent were dispossessed of the church by secular violence and power; and adding that the monastery has been burned by lightning, and is put to great expense by hospitality to princes and magnates and other nobles, as well as to poor and pilgrims), to receive the proposed resignation of John Grab, the alleged vicar, and thereupon to appropriate in perpetuity to the said monastery, value not exceeding 200 marks of the money of Scotland, the said church and vicarage, value not exceeding 30, so that the abbot and convent may hold the church to their own uses, and have it served by a priest as under the said ordinance. The said John, who holds a canonry and prebend of Aberdeen, value not exceeding 20 marks Scots, is to receive from the abbot and convent a fitting yearly pension for life from the fruits etc. of the said church.
