King Edward, Henry, earl of Lancaster, and John, bishop of Hereford. Whereas the bishop proposes to translate the body of St. Thomas of Hereford from the tomb, and to place his relics in a decorated shrine, they pray that the pope will grant plenary remission at the hour of death to those who visit the church of Hereford on the day of the translation, or within its octave, and visit the said shrine in future years, or, being unable to do so, send oblations.
