Prayers.

Maidwell's Discovery.

COLONEL Thompson reports from the Committee of the Navy;

"That there being an Estate of concealed Lands, worth near Sixteen thousand Pounds, which was never under Sepuestration, nor compounded for; which the Parliament hath an Interest in: which Mr. Maidwell is willing to discover; and he having already paid, and being engaged to pay, Debts to the Value of Eight thousand Pounds, for the Persons interessed in the Lands, who are Delinquents, humbly prays he may be allowed one Moiety thereof, for the Discovery."

"Resolved, by the said Committee, That the same be reported to the Parliament, to desire, that they will be pleased to declare their Pleasure therein."

Resolved, That the Parliament doth agree with the Proposal aforesaid, reported from the Committee of the Navy herein.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to examine the Business upon Oath; and what Benefit shall come to the State by the said Discovery, deducting what shall be allowed to the Discoverer, shall go for the Service of the Navy: And the Committee have Power to send for Persons, Writings, and Papers.

White's Discoveries.

A Letter from the Lord General of the Fifth of November 1650, touching John White, of Reding, was this Day read.

The humble Petition of John White, of Reding, in the County of Berks, Yeoman, was this Day read.

Resolved, That the said Petition be referred to the Commissioners of Goldsmiths Hall, to examine the Truth thereof: And that the said Commissioners do give Warrant, from time to time, for Payment unto the said John White of Reading, the Moiety of such Discoveries as he shall make, unto the Commissioners at Haberdashers Hall, not yet discovered, until he shall be thereby satisfied the Sum of Four hundred Pounds, towards Satisfaction of his Losses: And the Acquittance of the said John White, testifying the Receipt thereof, shall be a sufficient Discharge in that behalf.

Delinquents Estates.

Mr. Say reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for Sale of the Lands of several Delinquents is referred, a Proviso to the said Bill, "That all Grants, Charges, Assurances, or Conveyances, had, made, or suffered, by the Delinquents, or any of them, since the Six-and-twentieth of March 1638, and before the Time of the said Treason committed, upon good and valuable Consideration of Monies, and upon Consideration of Marriage before the Solemnization thereof, or other good and valuable Consideration, shall be good and available in Law, as if this Act had not been made: "Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and several Amendments made at the Table.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to the same Committee that brought in the Bill: And the Committee are to meet at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in Mr. Speaker's Chamber; and so de die in diem: And all that come to have Voices: And this Committee have Power to receive the Complaints of any Persons herein concerned, not formerly taken into Consideration; and to report such of them to the House as they shall see Cause.

Resolved, That this Committee have Power to consider of, and present, the Names of other Delinquents, to be inserted into this Bill.

Resolved, That the Debate upon the other Particulars, already agreed upon by the Committee, be taken up on Tuesday next.

Articles of Pendennis.

Resolved, That the same Committee have Power to take into Consideration the General's Letters, touching the Articles of Pendennis; and report their Opinions therein to the House.

Col. Birche.

Resolved, That Colonel Birche's Petition be read on Tuesday Morning next.

Comm rs of Assessments.

Resolved, That Richard Lucy Esquire, Thomas Wavell, and Thomas Legge, be added to the Commissioners for the Assessments of One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds per mensem, in the Isle of Wight.

Resolved, That Edward Osborne Esquire, John Cokaine, Henry Whitbread, and John Spencer, be added to the Commissioners for the Assessment of the One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds per mensem, in the County of Bedford.

Sheriff of Hereford.

Resolved, That Francis Pember Esquire be, and is hereby nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff of the County of Hereford for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England do issue forth a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Army.

A Letter from the General, dated the One-and-twentieth of November 1650, was this Day read.

Resolved, That Four Troops of Dragoons belonging to Colonel Okei's Regiment, being already added to his Two Troops of Horse, and commissionated by the General, as a Regiment of Horse, be established to be a Regiment of Horse in the Army: And that the Committee of the Army be authorized and required to admit the same Regiment of Horse into the Establishment of the Army, and take Order for their Payment, accordingly.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take especial Care for speedy Sending of Backs, Breasts, and Pots, to the Army in Scotland, according to the Desire of the General.

The House, according to former Order, adjourned itself to Tuesday Morning next, Eight of Clock.
