AN Act for settling the Cathedral or College Church of Gloucester upon the Mayor and Burgesses of the City of Glocester, and their Successors, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to General Disbrow, Master of the Rolls, Captain Baines, Colonel Rous, Mr. Pury, Sir John Reynolds, Lord Richard Cromwell, Mr. Butler, Captain Mason, Major Burton, Colonel Shapcott, Colonel Blake, Mr. Robinson, Captain Neast, Mr. Collins, Mr. Crofts: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards.

A Bill for Settlement of a Rent-Charge of One hundred Pounds per Ann. to be issuing out of the Manors and Lands of Samuell Johnson Esquire, for Maintenance of Sixteen Scholars in several Colleges in the University of Cambridge, in pursuance of the Gift of Robert Johnson, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee for the Bill for Gloucester: And that Colonel Cock, Mr. Stone, Mr. Hely, Mr. Bampfeild, Mr. Sheild, Mr. Heldisley, Mr. Cobb, Colonel Purefoy, Major General Kelsey, Mr. Reynells, be added to this Committee: And they are to meet on this Business on Tuesday next, at Two of the Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards.

Court of Wards.

A Bill intituled, An Act for taking away the Court of Wards and Liveries, was this Day read the Third time; and, upon the Question, passed Nemine contradicente.

Ordered, That this Bill be offered to his Highness the Lord Protector for his Consent.

Privilege.

The House being informed, that William Pease, Broker, hath caused Robert Page, one of the Bailiffs of Westminster, to arrest Edward Ruddock, Servant to Mr. Mason, a Member of this House, knowing him to be a Servant to Mr. Mason, and that Mr. Mason was a Member of Parliament; and came into the said Mr. Mason's Chamber, and told him, He would arrest him, altho' a Member of Parliament; or Words to that Effect.

Mr. Mason, being present, doth affirm, This Edward Ruddock is his menial Servant.

Resolved, That Edward Ruddock, Servant to Mr. Mason, a Member of this House, who hath been arrested at the Suit of William Pease, ought to have his Privilege.

Resolved, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do apprehend the said Wm. Pease, and Robert Page the Bailiff, and bring them to the Bar, to answer this Breach of Privilege.

Resolved, That the Serjeant, with his Mace, do fetch the said Edward Ruddock, and bring him to this House, on Monday next.

Court of Wards.

The Question being put, That the Petitions of the late Officers of the late Court of Wards and Liveries be taken into Consideration by this House;

It passed with the Negative.

Wardships in Scotland.

Ordered, That the Bill for taking away the Court of Wards in Scotland, be read on Wednesday next.
