Archbishop of Cant's Petition, that his Servants may have his Body to inter.
The Petition of Wm. Archbishop of Canterbury, was read; shewing, "Most humble Thanks to their Lordships, in that they have been pleased to mitigate the Severity of the Sentence lately passed against him; and humbly beseecheth, that they will be a Means, that, in regard of his Age, his Calling, and that he hath had the Honour to sit in sundry Parliaments, this Favour may be continued unto him; and that his Body may (fn. 1) be left to his Servants, to see the same interred; which Clemency (fn. 2) your poor unfortunate Petitioner shall most thankfully acknowledge, and, those few Hours he hath to live, not cease to pray for their Lordships.

Message to the H. C. with it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath:
To deliver this Petition to them; and desire that, seeing this Business concerns Part of the Conference Yesterday, to desire an Answer to it; and to let them know, that their Lordships thinks fit to grant the Prayer of the Petition, that his Body may be delivered to his Servants.
Waggoners of the City Brigade Petition, for Pay.
Upon reading the Petition of the Waggoners to the City Brigade; shewing, "That there is due unto them Three Thousand Pounds for Pay, they having lost many of their Teams; therefore (fn. 1) desire their Pay."
Hereupon this House Ordered, To recommend this Petition to the House of Commons, by the next Message.
Ordinance to make the Precincts of Newport Parochial.
The Lord Admiral reported, "That the Committee have considered the Ordinance for making of the Borough and Precincts of Newport, in the Isle of Wight, to be Parochial; and they think it fit to pass as it is."
Hereupon the said Ordinance was read the Third Time, and passed it.
Mr. Allott to be Minister there.
And it was moved, "That when Mr. Thompson, a Minister, comes to Newport, his Living, which now he holds, in the Isle of Wight, called Brison, will be void; that one Mr. Allott, a Minister, a Godly and Orthodox Divine, may be put into that Living."
Papers from the French Minister.
The Earl of Northumb. reported to the House, "That the French Agent was with him this Morning, and desired him to deliver this House Four several Papers; and because they were in French. it is Ordered, That they be translated in English, by Mr. Weckerlin.
Answer from the H. C.
Mr. Dr. Aylett and Mr. Dr. Heath return with this Answer from the House of Commons:
That they do agree with their Lordships, that the Execution of the Archbishop shall be the cutting off of his Head; and that, according to (fn. 3) the Prayer of the Archbishop's Petition, his Body may be delivered to his Servants, to be buried.
North and Conisby.
Ordered, That the Cause between Roger North Esquire and Mr. Conisby shall be heard at this Bar on To-morrow Sevennight.
Mr. Delmy to be of the Assembly.
Ordered, That this House agrees with the House of Commons, that Mr. Phillip Delmy be admitted to be One of the Assembly of Divines, in the Place of Mr. Rathbone, lately dead.
