Canary Patent.

A Petition of George Smith Merchant was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee appointed to consider the Charter of the Canary Company, to examine the Matter of the Petition; and report the Matter of Fact, and their Opinions, to the House: And that these Members following be added to the Committee; Sir Willfrid Lawson, Sir Thomas Strickland, Sir John Frederick, Sir Robert Carre, Mr. Street, Mr. Dawson, Sir Phill. Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill for Prevention of Duelling: And that it be referred to Mr. Secretary Morice, Mr. Coleman, Sir Robert Atkins, Mr. Pryn, Sir Charles Harbord, Serjeant Seys, Sir Job Charlton, Serjeant Mainard, Sir Solom. Swale, Mr. Hen. Coventry, or any Three of them: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And to consider the Penalties on such as shall give Provocations, and for Reparations to such as shall be injured or provoked.

Fire of London.

Ordered, That Sir John Pelham, Sir Geo. Hungerford, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Biscawen, Sir Richard Everard, Sir Thom. Wendy, Mr. Millward, Sir John Brampston, Mr. Hungerford, and all the Members that serve for the City of London, be added to the Committee appointed to consider of the Causes of the late Fire.
