Prayers.

Prize Goods, &c.

ORDERED, That the Accompts of Prize Goods and Chest-Money be brought in to the Committee appointed to inspect the publick Accompts, To-morrow in the Afternoon; to be examined by the Committee; and report it to the House.

Winchester Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue a Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a Writ, for electing a Citizen to serve for the City of Winchester, instead of Richard Goddard, Esquire, deceased.

Higgons' Claim.

A Bill to enable Sir Thomas Higgons to receive Satisfaction of Four thousand Five hundred and Fifty Pounds, due to Elizabeth late Countess of Essex, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Importing Cattle, &c.

Mr. Seymour reports from the Committee to which the Bill against Importation of foreign Cattle and Fish was re-committed, upon the Debate of the Third Amendment, formerly made by the Committee, to the Bill touching the Manner of Seizure, That the Committee had met, and agreed a further Clause to be added to the former Amendment: Which he read, with the Coherence; and delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Clause being twice read;

The Question being put, That the Words "of the same County," be added after the Word "Peace;"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, That the Word "some," instead of the Word, "the next," .... before the Word "Justice;"

It was resolved in the Affirmative: And the Clause amended accordingly.

The Fourth Amendment, to the Thirteenth Line of the Third Page, was twice read.

Resolved, &c. That the Words "Chester, with the Members thereof" be added, after the Word "Port;" and the Words "of Liverpoole" omitted.

Which was done accordingly.

The Question being put, That the Words "or Whitehaven" be added, after "thereof;"

It passed in the Negative.

The last Amendment was twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Call of the House.

Resolved, &c. That the Calling of the House be adjourned till Monday next.

Public Accompts.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Long be desired to bring the Papers concerning the public Accompts (which he was to sign) unto the Committee appointed to inspect the publick Accompts, this Afternoon.

English Manufactures.

Sir George Downing reports from the Committee appointed for Advance of the Manufactures of this Nation, and to prevent Excess in Using of Foreign Commodities, That the Committee had agreed upon Two Resolves to be tendered to the House: Which he read to the House; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And were twice read; being as followeth;

That the Committee may have Liberty to draw up and tender a Bill for the prohibiting the Importation of all Sorts of Manufactures and Commodities whatsoever, of the Growth, Production, or Manufacture of France, and of all other Lands and Places in the Possession of the French King, for time.

That, for the Prevention of the Importing of great Quantities thereof, while this Bill should be depending and passing, his Majesty be humbly moved, in the mean time, to issue out his Proclamation prohibiting strictly the Importation thereof, into any Port or Place of this Kingdom, or Town of Berwicke upon Tweed.

The Question being put, That the Committee have Liberty to draw up and tender a Bill to the House, for the prohibiting the Importation and Use of all Sorts of Manufactures and Commodities whatsoever, of the Growth, Production, or Manufacture of France, and of all other Lands and Places in the Possession of the French King, for time;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, That his Majesty be humbly moved to issue out his Proclamation, prohibiting strictly the Importation of all Sorts of Manufactures and Commodities whatsoever, of the Growth, Production, or Manufacture of France, and of all other Lands and Places in the Possession of the French King, into any Port or Place of this Kingdom, or Town of Berwicke upon Tweed;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Resolved, &c. That the Concurrence of the Lords be desired to this Vote.

That Sir George Downing do go up to the Lords for their Concurrence.
