Mandate to collate and assign to John Macolgan, priest, of the diocese of Derry—who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, having been so promoted, he obtained the vicarage of Cluaynk in the said diocese, which he afterwards resigned—the rectory of Dompnacch Glennatacchayr in the said diocese, value not exceeding 6 marks, still void by the death of Nemeas Maccholgan, summoning and removing Donald Maccholgan, priest, of the said diocese, who has unduly detained possession for more than seven years without clearing himself of his simoniacal entry therein. He is hereby specially dispensed to hold it, notwithstanding his said defect, etc. (B. and Pizolpassus. | B. Gratis pro deo. Secundo Id. Junii Anno Secundo.Valven.)
Non. July.
Bologna.
(f. 111d.)
To the chancellor of the church of Lismore (Lismiren.) in the diocese of Argyll. To the prior of Orwansay in the diocese of Sodor. Mandate as below. The pope has learned that the perpetual vicarage of St. Comanus's in Ile, in the diocese of Sodor, became void by the death of Murcardus Macgillacommeyg, although Donald [son] of Morice [Moricii] Macinnirlegyn, priest, of the said diocese, obtained it, thus void and collated to him by papal authority, after he had become excommunicate by striking, to the point of bloodshed, John Martini, clerk, of the diocese of Argyll, and has unduly detained possession for more than six years. He therefore orders the above prior, if John Patricii, priest, of the diocese of Sodor (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest etc. as above, f. 36) will accuse Donald before him, to summon Donald, and if he find the above to be true, to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 15 marks sterling, to the said John.
