Victoria County History - Oxfordshire

Founded in 1899 and originally dedicated to Queen Victoria, the Victoria County History (VCH) is an encyclopaedic record of England's places and people from earliest times to the present day. It has been described as the greatest publishing project in English local history. Covers the religious houses of the county, including some early colleges of the University of Oxford. The volume also includes accounts aspects of social and economic history and the archaeology of the county.
A History of the County of Oxford: Volume 6
The parishes of the hundred of Ploughley, bordering Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire in the north-east of the county. It includes an account of the town of Bicester.
