BRIMPSFIELD
A wide scatter of Romano-British pottery, a coin of Faustina II and evidence of infant burial have been found by Mrs. E. D. Gander in the area of 'Manless Town' (SO 929115).
Mortaria sherds have been found among earthworks of uncertain date E. of the modern road (C.U.A.P., OAP, AWO 16), but other finds are mediaeval and later. Roman pottery has been found in arable fields W. of the road (SO 927117–929114). The burial was discovered by excavation towards the S. of the area, in a Roman quarry (SO 92871147).
