Kirkby Kendall Road Bill.

The Lord Scarsdale reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to continue and enlarge the Term and Powers of an Act, made in the Third Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, intituled, "An Act for repairing, widening, and keeping in repair, the Road from Kirkby Kendall, in the County of Westmorland, to Kirkby Ireleth, in the County of Lancaster," was committed: That they had considered the said Bill and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Land Tax Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to His Majesty by a Land Tax, to be raised in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year One thousand seven hundred and eighty four."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Messages to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to the Two preceding Bills.

And Messages were, severally, sent to the House of Commons by Mr. Leeds and Mr. Pepys:

To acquaint them, "That the Lords have agreed to the said Bills, without any Amendment."

Carse against Colquhoun et al:

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of James Carse younger, of Blackhouse, Esquire; complaining of Three Interlocutors of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 4th, 16th, and 17th Days of this Instant December, and praying "That the same may be reversed, varied, or amended, or that the Appellant may have such other Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that John Colquhoun, Tenant in Gartcosh, John Corbet of Tolcross Esquire, and His Majesty's Advocate and Solicitor General for Scotland, for the Public Interest may be required to answer the said Appeal:"

It is Ordered, That the said John Colquhoun, and the said several other Persons last named, may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and do put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto in Writing, on or before Tuesday the 20th Day of January next: And Service of this Order, upon the said Respondents, or upon any of their known Counsel or Agents, in the Court of Session in Scotland, shall be deemed good Service.

Chalmer to enter into Recognizance on said Appeal.

The House being moved, "That James Chalmer of Buckingham Street, York Buildings, Gentleman, may be permitted to enter into a Recognizance for James Carse Esquire, on Account of his Appeal depending in this House, he living in Scotland:"

It is Ordered, That the said James Chalmer may enter into a Recognizance for the said Appellant as desired.

Pincke and Thornycrost against Thornycrost et al.

The House being informed, "That Edward Thornycrost Esquire and others, Respondents to the Appeal of Alured Pincke Esquire, and Ann Thornycroft, had not put in their Answer to the said Appeal, though duly served with the Order of this House for that Purpose:"

And thereupon an Affidavit of James Williams of Salisbury Court, Fleet Street, of the due Service of the said Order being read:

Ordered, That the said Respondents, do put in their Answer to the said Appeal peremptorily in a Week.

His Majesty being seated on the Throne, adorned with His Crown and Regal Ornaments, and attended by His Officers of State (the Lords being in their Robes) commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "It is His Majesty's Pleasure that they attend Him immediately in this House."

Who being come with their Speaker, He, after a short Introduction in relation to the Money Bills to be passed, delivered them to the Clerk, who brought them to the Table, where the Deputy Clerk of the Crown read the Titles of those, and the other Bills to be passed, severally, as follows: (videlicet)

"An Act to continue, for a limited Time, an Act made in the last Session of Parliament, intituled, "An Act for preventing certain Instruments from being required from Ships belonging to the United States of America; and to give to His Majesty, for a limited Time, certain Powers for the better carrying on Trade and Commerce between the Subjects of His Majesty's Dominions and the Inhabitants of the said United States."

4. "An Act to continue so much of an Act made in the last Session of Parliament, as allows further Time for the Payment of certain Sums due and to become due to the Public from the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the East Indies."

5. "An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers of an Act passed in the Fourth Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for repairing and widening the Road from Shillingford, in the County of Oxford, through Wallingford and Pangborne to Reading, in the County of Berks, and for building a Bridge over the River Thames at or near Shillingford Ferry."

6. "An Act to continue and enlarge the Term and Powers of an Act, made in the Third Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, intituled, "An Act for repairing, widening, and keeping in Repair the Road from Kirkby Kendall, in the County of Westmorland, to Kirkby Ireleth, in the County of Lancaster."

7. "An Act to enable the Company of Proprietors of the Borrowstounness Navigable Cut or Canal, more effectually to complete and maintain the same."
