May 1. Royal warrant to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal for a grant to William, Earl of Portland, and his heirs and assigns for ever of the mansion, palace or capital messuage or the late mansion etc., with the appurtenances called Theobald's House in the parish of Cheshunt, co. Berks, and all the park or late park called Theobald's Park and other premises as follows : all as formerly granted to George, late Duke of Albemarle, and all the buildings whatsoever which since the date of said grant have been erected thereon. The present grant to be in free and common socage at the rent of 13s. 4d. per an. : together with all the mesne profits thereof grown due since the death of Christopher, Duke of Albemarle.
Appending : particular of the premises and memorandum by Auditor J. Phelips. The capital messuage contains 30 acres. The appurtenant lands in Cheshunt, Enfield, Waltham and Northall of 2,508 acres in all (enclosed in said park and purchased from Sir Thomas Dacres and Thomas Dacres, esq., his son), are in the several tenures of Susanna, Lady Forster, widow, Alice Farrington, widow, Humfry Walcott, gent., Thomas Lewen, Robert Lewen, Richard Hall, John Campe, Anthony Munday, Mountan' Jennings, Richard Long, Henry Cooke and Gedion Feild. The premises also include the tithes of Cheshunt, the rectory of Cheshunt purchased from Henry Atkins, Dr. of Medicine, and there are separate lodges in the tenure of John Charge, Thomas Dell (Bulcroft Gate), Thomas Rante (Cheshunt Gate), Roger Lowen.

Royal warrant to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal to create an office of superintendency of all the King's gardens belonging to all the Royal palaces and houses of access in England, to oversee and direct any the plantations and works in said gardens : and to appoint William, Earl of Portland, to the said office during pleasure : with the salary of 200l. per an. as from Lady day last. Same to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal for a grant to Christopher Vane of Raby Castle, co. Durham, and his heirs male, of the office of Master Forester and Chief Warden of all the King's forests and chaces within the lordship of Barnard Castle, co. Durham, and the custody and office of Chief Keeper of the Forest of Teesdale and Chase of Marwood, alias Marwood-hagg : all as lately granted to Sir William Bowes, kt., by James II, which grant is now determined and void. The present grantee to covenant to repair all houses and lodges therein at his own cost as often as required and to pay the wages and fees amounting to 9l. 2s. 0d. per an. and all other charges etc. of the several keepers and foresters thereof and to replenish the forests and chaces with a competent number of deer "for our delight when we come there." Royal warrant to Owen Wynn, Mint Warden, Thomas Neale, Mint Master and Worker, and James Hoare, Mint Comptroller, to alter in the arms and circumscriptions etc. divers old seals now or lately used, which may be fitted to the King's royal style without the charge of engraving anew. Same to the Clerk of the Signet for a privy seal to instal the First Fruits of Dr. Gilbert Burnett, Bishop of Salisbury : same to be payable by 311l. 13s. 7½d. in 1690, April 26, 311l. 13s. 7½d. in 1691 and 623l. 7s. 3½d. in 1692, or 1,246l. 14s. 6½d. in all : on the Bishop's own security only and with the usual clause for ceasing of liability on avoidance. Same to same for a same for payment of 570l. 5s. 0d. per an. to the Chancellor of the Garter for the necessary fees, pensions and other payments ordained for said Order : it being found by experience that said sum is sufficient for same in lieu of the 1,200l. per an. ordained for same by Charles II, 1660-1, Jan. 23. Royal warrant dormant to William Harbord, Paymaster of the Forces designed for Ireland, to deduct from time to time from all the moneys you pay to the said Forces the sum of 12d. per £, keeping one moiety thereof to your own use in consideration of the service and charges of yourself and clerks ; the other moiety to be charged upon you in your accounts : the said deductions to take effect as to the 17 new Regiments of Foot from April 1 last ; and as to the other Troops and Companies from May 1 inst. ; and in the case of further Troops or Companies to be raised then to be from the time they are so raised or appointed.
