12 Martin V (cont.)

[De Diversis Formis.]

1429.
7 Id. May.
SS. Apostoli, Rome.
(f. 28d)
To Thomas Astell, rector of Twyford in the diocese of Lincoln. Dispensation to him, a subdeacon, not to be bound for five years to have himself promoted to any other holy orders on account of the said church. Vite etc. (fn. 2)

De Beneficiis Vacantibus

13 Kal. Dec.
SS. Apostoli, Rome.
(f. 95.)
To the prior of St. Mary's, Killeydh, in the diocese of Kildare, and the dean and the archdeacon of Kildare. Mandate to collate and assign to Alan Ocrumibayl, canon of Kildare, the rectory of Killcorbay alias Cruachan in the diocese of Kildare, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 6 marks, so long void, because Odo Olennayn, who is to be summoned and removed, held it for more than a year without being ordained priest, that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that Alan (who asserts that the said Odo has detained the said rectory for about seven years after the lapse of the said year, without having been ordained priest) holds a canonry of Kildare and the prebend of Kichtymgayn therein, value not exceeding 12 marks. Vite etc. (Pe. xxii. Quarto Id. Decembris Anno Tertiodecimo. de Casatiis.)
5 Non. Oct.
Prope SS. Apostoli,
Rome.
(f. 104d.)
To the dean of Ardfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Olongsygh, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the perpetual vicarage of Cnoc in the said diocese, value not exceeding 5 marks, void by the death of Philip Olongsygh. Dignum etc. (Pe. xx. Sexto Id. Novembris Anno Duodecimo. de Casatiis.)
1429.

(f. 105d.)
To Prosper de Columna, archdeacon of Canterbury, ‘salutem etc. Nobilitas generis, vite ac morum honestas, aliaque laudabilia probitatis et virtutum merita, super quibus apud nos fidedigno commendaris testimonio, nos inducunt ut tibi reddamur ad graciam liberales,’ the same preamble, cancelled, as that of the reservation above, p. 95.
8 Kal. Nov.
SS Apostoli, Rome.
(f. 109.)
To the abbot of Inysgad, the prior of the priory of Monaincha (Insula vivencium), and the prior of the secular and collegiate church of St. Senan, Inyskathaig, in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Macconmara, treasurer of Killaloe—who is of a noble race of dukes, and who lately received papal dispensation as the son of a nobleman and a noblewoman related in the second and third degrees of affinity and the third and fourth degrees of kindred, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 104d, and to whom the pope subsequently ordered provision to be made of the said treasurership, a non-major dignity with cure, to which is annexed the perpetual vicarage of Drumlygayll in the said diocese, at the same time dispensing him to receive and hold it—the rectory of the parish church of Cunky called Ocassyn in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 20 marks, so long void because Dermit Macdearmada held it for more than a year without being ordained priest that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, summoning and removing Thady Macconmara, archdeacon of Killaloe, who has unduly detained possession for more than three years without clearing himself of his simoniacal entry, and without having any canonical title; notwithstanding that he holds the said treasurership, value not exceeding 5 marks, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold the said rectory for ten years. Vite etc. (Pe. xxxx. Quintodecimo Kal. Decembris Anno Duodecimo. de Casatiis.) [See Cal. Lett. VII, pp. 350, 352, 490.]
Kal. Nov.
Prope SS. Apostoli,
Rome.
(f. 110.)
To the dean of Armagh. Mandate to collate and assign to Rory Macgagyrr, priest, of the diocese of Armagh, the perpetual vicarage of Ariguldakerog in the said diocese, value not exceeding 8 marks, void by the death of Maurice Ocoreran (rectius Ocorcran), summoning and removing Patrick Ofeargalaydh, priest, of the diocese of Clogher, who has unduly detained possession for more than two years under pretext of papal letters which are null in accordance with a constitution of the present pope [see Ottenthal, Regulœ Canc. Apost. p. 219, viz. Regulœ Mart. V, No. 127] because they did not mention that Solomon Maccreuayr, clerk, of the diocese of Clogher, had unduly detained it for three years and was still detaining it. Dignum etc. (Pe. xxi. Tertiodecimo Kal. Decembris Anno Duodecimo. de Casatiis.)
Ibid.
(f. 113.)
To the archdeacon and John Macgillabugi and Nemeas Obirrynd, canons of Dromore. Mandate to collate and assign to Mark Macbridyn, clerk, of the diocese of Dromore (who has this day resigned into the pope's hands the canonry and prebend of Saint Ronan de Land in Dromore, provision of which was granted to him by papal authority, the letters thereof not having been drawn up) the rectory of Cluaindaym in the said diocese, value not exceeding 4 marks, void by the death of Patrick Magynd, summoning and removing the Augustinian abbot and convent of Beandehar in the diocese of Down, who on the said voidance took possession of the said rectory without any right, and have detained it for about five years, converting its fruits to their own uses. Vite etc. (Pe. Gratis pro deo. Kal. Decembris Anno Tertiodecimo. de Casatiis.)
Non. Sept.
Ferentino.
(f. 120d.)
To the dean of Derry. Mandate to collate and assign to Henry Omuirgissan, clerk, of the diocese of Derry, who is of noble race, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Culldavcha in the said diocese, void and therefore reserved by the death at the apostolic see of Patrick Lochlannach; notwithstanding that the pope has lately [above, p. 61] ordered provision to be made to him of a canonry of Derry, with reservation of a prebend thereof and of a benefice with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishop and the [dean and] chapter etc. of Derry, which latter mandate shall, upon his obtaining the said vicarage, be null so far as regards such benefice with cure only. Dignum etc. (Pe. xxv. Tertio Non. Januarii Anno Tertio-decimo. de Casatiis.)
