To David de Hamylton, rector of Cumnok in the diocese of Glasgow, M.A. Reservation, for collation to him, who is also a bachelor of theology and canon law, and is of noble race of the realm of Scotland, of the parish church, value not exceeding 100 marks sterling, of Kirkkiner in the diocese of Whiteherne, which John, elect of Glasgow, held at the time of his promotion by the pope to that see, and still holds, and which is to become void by the said promotion and by his approaching consecration; notwithstanding that David (who lately, holding inter alia the said church of Cumnok, and having had provision ordered by the present pope to be made to him of the deanery of Glasgow, a major elective dignity with cure, received from the present pope dispensation [above, p. 258] to hold for life the said deanery together with the said church of Cumnok, or together with any benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible, and to resign both, simply or for exchange) holds Cumnok and the said deanery, and the chapel without cure of St. Thomas the Martyr without the walls of Glasgow, and a canonry and prebend of Brechin, of all which the fruits etc. (which in the case of the deanery are usurped by a certain adversary) do not exceed in value 150 l. sterling a year; that the pope lately granted him provision of the archdeaconry, a non-major dignity with cure, of Whiteherne, value not exceeding 20l. sterling, and of the deanery and the prebend called ‘de Glasgow Primo’ in the said church of Glasgow, and has ordered provision to be made to him [above, p. 241] of the hospital without cure of Rothen (sic) in the diocese of Aberdeen, wont to be assigned to secular clerks as a perpetual benefice, value together not exceeding 80l. sterling. He is hereby dispensed to hold together for five years Kirkkiner and Cumnok and the said deanery, and to resign meanwhile Kirkkiner, simply or for exchange, etc. Upon obtaining Kirkkiner under these presents, the above grant in regard to the archdeaconry of Whiteherne is to be null. (f. 190d.)		 To the prior of St. Mary's alias St. Coman's (S. Chomani), Roschoman, in the diocese of Elphin. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Odo Macdiarmada, monk of the Cistercian monastery of St. Mary, Boyle (de Buellio), in the diocese of Elphin, that Cormac, abbot thereof, leads an immodest life, dilapidates the property of the monastery, and has committed simony more than once—if Odo will accuse Cormac in the above prior's presence, to summon Cormac and others concerned, and if he find the above charges, or sufficient of them, to be true, to deprive Cormac, and in that event to make provision of the said abbey, the value of whose abbatial mensa does not exceed 16 marks, whether the abbey be void by such deprivation or by the death of Eugenius Meicdonnchaid or in any other way, to the said Odo, who has made only a private profession (saltem tacite professus existit) of the said order, after he has made his public (expresse) profession thereof. Odo may be blessed by any catholic bishop, who shall receive and send to the pope, as usual, his oath of fealty. Ex suscepte seruitutis officio. (Cancelled, with a note in the margin.
