Dispensation to him (whom the present pope lately dispensed to hold, as soon as he should reach his seventeenth year and be of sufficient learning, a benefice with cure, even if a dignity etc., after which he obtained the above moiety) that he, who is in his nineteenth year, may, after he has attained his twenty-second year and not otherwise, resign, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases. the said moiety or other benefice with cure. To John Urry, rector of Hurstperpond in the diocese of Chichester, bachelor of canon law. Prolongation by ten years of the period of three years during which the present pope dispensed him, who is of noble birth, to hold together with Hurstperpond one other benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if another parish church etc., after which, as his recent petition contained, he obtained the parish church of Beston (corrected from Weston) in the diocese of Norwich, value not exceeding 30 marks, which he holds with Hurstperpond. He almost rebuilt at his own expense the church of Hurstperpond and its buildings when he obtained possession thereof, and has laid out about 30 marks in repairing the church of Beston (corrected, as above). Further, after getting possession of Weston (sic) the ordinary received from him 27 marks by way of first fruits (racione illius annate), so that during the said three years he has received slender fruit from the said two churches. During the said ten years he is to exchange as usual; if not, he is to resign Hurstperpond. Nobilitas generis, litterarum etc.

Upon its being lately set forth to the pope on behalf of John Ycearnaig, [now] dean of Tuam, then clerk, of the diocese of Tuam, that the deanery of Tuam, a major dignity, had become and was void because William Rany, who held it, had obtained without canonical title, and had held therewith for several years, the deanery of Mayo, also a dignity, the pope ordered the abbots of St. Mary's, Cong (de Cunga), St. Michael's, Mayo and Ballintober (Ville fontis Sancti Patricii) in the said diocese, to summon William and others concerned, and if they found that the said deanery of Tuam was void as above or in any other way, to collate and assign it to the said John. John's recent petition contained that William, abbot of St. Mary's, Cong, in execution of the pope's said mandate, gave a definitive sentence, made collation and provision to John and removed William; and added that he fears lest others have intruded themselves or may do so. The pope therefore orders the above archdeacon to execute the said sentence alike against such intruders as against the said William. Justis et honestis. (Ja. xxv. Non.
