1421. 5 Id. Sept. S. Maria Maggiore, Rome. (f. 9.)	To the archdeacon of Kilmore. Mandate to summon Nemeas Ofeagayth, priest, of the diocese of Kilmore and others concerned, and if he find that, as the pope has learned, the perpetual benefice without cure, value not exceeding 2 marks, called the rectory of Balimicanchobayll, instituted in the parish church of Drung in the said diocese, has been so long void that there is no certain knowledge as to how it became void, to remove Nemeas, who unlawfully detains it, and to collate and assign it to his son Adam Ofeagayth, clerk, of the said diocese. 1420. 3 Kal. Jan. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 20d.)	To the abbot of Dere in the diocese of Aberdeen. Mandate (the pope having learned that the canonry and prebend of Kyncardin in Aberdeen, which are of lay patronage and which the late Donald de Bute held, became void by Donald's death, and are still void because the lay patron has neglected to present within the lawful time) to summon the said patron and others concerned, and if he find the facts to be as stated, to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend, value not exceeding 100l. sterling, to Andrew de Hawyk, priest, rector of Lyston in the diocese of St. Andrews; notwithstanding that Andrew holds the said church, value not exceeding 100l. sterling, and that the pope has made provision to him of a canonry of Glasgow and another of Dunkeld, and provision of a canonry of Moray, with expectation of as many prebends, etc. Vite etc. (Ja. xxiiii. 1421. 2 Kal. Aug. Tivoli. (f. 206d.)	To Denis Day, elect of Ossory. Grant to him, to whom the pope recently made provision of the said see, to hold therewith for life on account of the poverty of its mensa, even after he has been consecrated or the canonical period during which consecration should take place has lapsed, his precentorship of Limerick, a non-major, non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 20l., provision of which, on its expected voidance by the above provision and approaching consecration, the pope made on 2 Non. July to John Pidde, priest, of the diocese of Norwich, who, before his letters were drawn up, has in the Roman court resigned all right in presence of Henry Suryng, clerk, of the diocese of Paderborn, notary public, and witnesses; with dispensation hereby to resign the precentorship for purpose of exchange. 14 Kal. Nov. S. Maria Maggiore, Rome. (f. 212.)	To the bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo (Ciuitaten.), the abbot of St. Michael's, Mayo, in the diocese of Tuam, and the archdeacon of Annadown. Mandate, as below. The pope has already rehabilitated Remundus Bremycheam, clerk, of the diocese of Tuam, at his petition setting forth that formerly John, archbishop of Tuam, made collation and provision to him by his ordinary authority of a canonry of Tuam, in which church there is no fixed (certus) number of canons nor distinction of prebends; that subsequently William Ranny, dean of Tuam, then vicar-general in spirituals of the said archbishop, from whom he had special power, made collation and provision to him of the parish church of Killheryheran (also written Kyllheryheran) in the said diocese, instead of a canonical portion in the said church of Tuam; and that he (who is illegitimate, being the son of an unmarried man of baronial race and an unmarried woman of knightly race, and was then suffering defect of age in regard to holding the said parish church, being in his sixteenth year, but who had duly received the tonsure) had, without being dispensed on account of the said defects, obtained and was still detaining possession of the said canonry and parish church, both of which the pope required him to resign. The pope having learned that the provostship of Tuam, a non-major non-elective dignity without cure, is void by the death of Dermit Omurcuayn, and that the parish church of Dunmor in the diocese of Tuam, of the patronage of laymen, has been so long void by the death of James Cachir that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see, he orders the above executors to collate and assign both, value together not exceeding 28 marks, to Remundus, who has studied canon and civil law for eight or nine years, and is in his twenty-fourth year only, after he has duly resigned the above canonry and church. He is hereby dispensed to be promoted to all higher, even holy orders, and to hold provostship and rectory together for life, and to resign them, simply or for exchange. Vite etc. (Ja. l. Provision to him, a Benedictine monk of Canterbury, S.T.M., priest, of the above see, void by the pope's translation this day of Thomas, elect of Hereford, then of Rochester, who is absent from the apostolic see, and who is still within the canonical period appointed for the consecration of bishops. Apostolatus officium.

Ibid. (f. 251.)	To John [Kempe], bishop of London. Translation, in his absence from the apostolic see, from the see of Chichester to that of London, void by the death of Richard, during whose life it was reserved by the pope. Before receiving possession of the administration of the goods he is to take to the archbishop of Canterbury or the bishop of Winchester the usual oath of fealty. Romani pontificis.

Reservation to him (who is the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, and who lately, after being tonsured by authority of the ordinary, received papal dispensation to be promoted to all other, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) of a benefice with or without cure, value not exceeding 25 or 18 marks accordingly, in the gift of the archbishop and the dean and chapter etc. of Tuam, provided that it be not a canonry and prebend of a cathedral church. Mandate to reserve, and to collate and assign to James Clement, priest, of the diocese of Dublin, if found fit, a benefice with or without cure, wont to be assigned to secular clerks, value not exceeding 25 or 18 marks accordingly, in the gift of the archbishop and the dean and chapter etc. of Dublin, and the prior and convent of the Hospitallers’ priory of Kylmaynan in the said diocese; notwithstanding that the pope has lately granted him provision of the perpetual vicarage of Nasse in the diocese of Kildare, value not exceeding 30 marks, which grant is, upon his obtaining a benefice with cure under these presents, to be void. Collation and provision to him, who is of noble birth, of a canonry of Ardfert, with reservation of a prebend; notwithstanding that the pope has lately ordered provision to be made to him of the perpetual vicarage of Kyllneachtayn in the diocese of Ardfert, value not exceeding 8 marks, of which he has not got possession. Mandate to make provision to Laurence Macsuebne, perpetual vicar of Cluaindabuadog in the said diocese, of noble birth, priest, if found fit, of a canonry of Raphoe, and to reserve to him a prebend thereof, value not exceeding 18 marks, in the gift of the bishop and the dean and chapter of Raphoe; notwithstanding that he holds the said vicarage, value not exceeding 10 marks. Mandate to make provision to Nemeas Macgyrrenaystyr, clerk, of the diocese of Kilfenora (Fynnaboren.), who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a subdeacon and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, if found fit, of a canonry of Kilfenora, and to reserve to him a prebend thereof; notwithstanding that the pope has lately ordered [Reg.
