[25 May 1411– 24 May 1412]. S[t. Peter's, Rome]. (f. 1.)	To the dean of Ardagh. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macdonnchaid, dean of Elphin, the perpetual benefice, called the rectory, de Dachorand in the diocese of Achonry, which takes its name from no church, whose rector receives part of certain tithes etc. in divers parishes, and whose value does not exceed 25 marks, void, under the provisions of its foundation and endowment, because Bernard Macdonnchaid has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without obtaining dispensation; notwithstanding that Donald holds the deanery of Elphin, a major dignity with cure, value not exceeding 30 marks, the fruits etc. of which are, on account of wars and other calamities in those parts, almost useless to the dean, and the perpetual benefice, called the rectory, of Ratharannan alias Silmailruan in the diocese of Tuam, and that he has lately had papal dispensation to hold his said benefice with the deanery for life, to resign it, for exchange or otherwise, as often as he pleased, and hold instead a similar or dissimilar benefice incompatible with the deanery. Mandate to collate and assign to Odo Olonan, clerk, of the diocese of Derry, who has had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the rectory, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 10 marks, of St. Mary's, Bali Monaid, in the diocese of Connor, so long void by the death of Donatus Micglenn that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Omulluyn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who has lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 4 marks, of Castleconnell (de Castro Conayng) in the said diocese, void because Dermit Ohanrachayn has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation. Mandate to collate and assign to Thady (Tatheus) Macgillaulltayn, priest, of the diocese of Tuam, who has had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest etc., as in the preceding, the still void perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks, of Maglacho alias Oudiermada in the said diocese, collation and provision of which he obtained from archbishop John upon its voidance by the resignation thereto of Odo Ymochlayn, as he doubts whether the collation holds good. 17 Kal. Aug. St. Peter's. Rome. (f. 35.)	To the bishop of Civitaten., the archdeacon of Ross and Reginald Omurrchyli, canon of Cork. Mandate to collate and assign to Reginald Ohart, clerk, of the diocese of Ross, who has studied canon law for seven years in certain places where there is no university (loca particularia sive private) of those parts, and who has lately has papal dispensation, as the son of a priest etc., as in the preceding, the perpetual benefices without cure, called rectories, value not exceeding 9 marks, the one in the parish church of Kilrochayn and the other in that of Kilncomog, in lay fee, in the diocese of Cork, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of the manner of voidance; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the deanery of Ross, value not exceeding 5 marks, and has dispensed him to hold it [above, p. 253]. Mandate to collate and assign to Rory (Ruoricus) Olonyrgayn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who is official-general of the episcopal court of Killaloe, has studied canon law for about seven years in places where there is no university (in locis ubi hujusmodi studium riget particulare), and has lately had papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman etc, as in the preceding, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Kyllanasuleach in the said diocese, void because James Olonyrgayn has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the precentorship of Killaloe, value not exceeding 9 marks, a non-major dignity with cure, which cure is by ancient custom exercised not by the precentor but by another commonly called a ‘stipendiary,’ of which he has not yet got possession, and has dispensed him to hold it [above, p. 252]. He is hereby dispensed to receive the vicarage and to retain it for life with the precentorship. Vite etc.
8 Id. July. St. Peter's. Rome. (f. 39d.)	To the dean of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to Matthew Macmeyrcheym, perpetual beneficiary in the parish church of Cuyngkyg in the said diocese, of ducal race and in his nineteenth year only, if found fit in Latin, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 3 marks, of Kallmaliery in the same diocese, void because Thady Macconnyl has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation; notwithstanding that he holds his perpetual benefice in the said parish church, and another in that of Bunraythi in the same diocese, both without cure and called rectories, the value of which likewise does not exceed 3 marks. He is hereby dispensed, on account of his said defect of age, to hold the vicarage. Dignum arbitramur.
1412. 13 Kal. June. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 60d.)	To the bishop, dean and official of Achonry. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Oruairc, clerk, of the diocese of Kilmore, the perpetual benefice without cure—which does not take its name from, and is not specially in, any church, and whose holder receives tithes in divers parishes of the diocese, the value of which tithes, with its other fruits etc., does not exceed 16 marks—called the rectory of Dartragie and Brefnichiar in the said diocese, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of the manner of voidance; the Augustinian abbot and convent of St. Mary's, Kenles, in the diocese of Meath, who unduly detain it, and on account of whose power Cornelius has no hope of obtaining justice, being summoned and removed; notwithstanding that the pope has recently [below, p. 265] ordered provision to be made to him of the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Killassnada in the said diocese.Vite etc. (Pro deo.)
1411. 16 Kal. Jan. St. Peter's. Rome. (f. 73d.)	To the bishop of Lucera and the priors of Saygir and Duruhac in the dioceses of Ossory and Meath. Mandate to collate and assign to Odo Oconallayn, clerk, of the diocese of Kildare—who has studied canon law for seven years in Ireland, and has lately had papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the rectory of Killcorbaie (also written Killcorkaige and Killcorbaige) in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen and value—together with that of the rectories of Cuilcorra and Bailenibeurle, in the same diocese, provision of which the pope has this day ordered to be made to him—not exceeding 10 marks, so long void by the death of Donatus Yoengassa that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see. Mandate to collate and assign to the above Odo, who has studied and been dispensed, as above, the above two rectories, which are of the patronage of laymen, and which used to have cure of souls, but have for forty years on account of wars etc. been without parishioners, value—together with that of Killcorbaige, provision of which etc. as above—not exceeding 10 marks, so long void by the death of Ciananus Yeirrubayn that their collation has lapsed, as above. Odo is hereby dispensed to hold for life the said rectories together with that of Killcorbaige. Vite etc.

Mandate to collate and assign to Cuchonact Obryll (sic), clerk, of the diocese of Derry, the rectory, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Leamkaill in the said diocese, void by the voluntary resignation to bishop John, made without the Roman court, of Simon Ybuill; whether it be void as above or in any other way, or by John XXII's constitution Execrabilis, even if so long void that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see, or it have been specially reserved. Mandate to collate and assign to John Omorra, rector of Kyllabbayn in the diocese of Leighlin—who is by both parents of noble race, and to whom Boniface IX [Cal. Lett. V, p. 451] ordered provision to be made of his said rectory, value not exceeding 10 (sic) marks, and dispensed him, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold the rectory—the perpetual vicarage, with cure and value not exceeding 10 (sic) marks, of the same church, void by the death of William Alosloy. He is hereby dispensed to hold for life the vicarage together with the rectory. Vite etc.
19 Kal. Jan. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 77.)	To the abbot of St. Mary's, Granard, and the prior of St. Mary's, Inismoir, in the diocese of Ardagh, and the official of Ardagh. Mandate to collate and assign to Henry Sargeant, clerk, of the diocese of Meath—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the rectory, of the patronage of laymen, and value not exceeding 10 marks, of St. Conquinus, kyllagh, in the said diocese, so long void by the death of John Sargeant that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see; Robert Dexsteder, priest, of the said diocese, who has had simoniacal collation and who detains it, and any other detainer, being removed. Mandate to collate and assign to Patrick Okailti, clerk, of the diocese of Derry—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the rectory, value not exceeding 5 marks, of Rathlurach in the said diocese, void because Patrick Macrochozan has obtained and held therewith the perpetual vicarage of the same church, both having cure. Mandate to collate and assign to John Omacny, clerk, of the diocese of Elphin—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 3 marks, of Cluaincremma in the said diocese, void because Charles Oberind has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation. Mandate to collate and assign to Nicholas Obranagan, perpetual vicar of St. Michael's, Russach, in the diocese of Ardagh, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks, of Kyllglassy in the same diocese, void by the resignation of Thomas Macmurkerchaid; Thomas Maccega, priest, of the said diocese, who obtained simoniacal collation and who detains it, and any other detainer, being removed; notwithstanding that Nicholas holds the above vicarage of St. Michael's, value not exceeding 9 marks, which, upon obtaining that of Kyllglassy, he is to resign. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Offeachna, clerk, of the diocese of Leighlin—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the rectory, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 12 marks, of Casleancomur in the diocese of Ossory, so long void, because Richard Volnet (or Voluet) obtained and held it for some time together with his perpetual vicarage of Dunsert in the same diocese without dispensation, that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see. Mandate to collate and assign to Patrick Ohcluc, clerk, of the diocese of Ossory—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest etc., as in the preceding—the rectory, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 12 marks, of Raithdomnay in the said diocese, so long void by the death of Donald (Domnaldus) Ochuanayn that its collation has by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that provision was lately ordered to be made to him by papal authority of the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of the same church. He is hereby dispensed to hold the rectory and one or two other mutually compatible benefices with or without cure, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, and hold instead three similar or dissimilar mutually compatible benefices. Decree, at the recent petition of John Leyot, dean of St. John's Chester, bachelor of canon law—containing that his deanery, which with its fruits etc. is situate on the confines of the realm of England, and, on account of the deadly wars which have for years raged between the English and Welsh, has sustained no small losses; and that the dean has, on account of his deanery, a principal and unique dignity, value not exceeding 100 marks, to pay episcopal rights and royal tenths and very many other burdens incumbent on the said church—that the deanery shall (not only on account of the above, but also because, as the pope has learned, the administration of sacraments and sacramentals is exercised not by the dean but by three perpetual vicars) be a compatible benefice during the life of John and his immediate successor, and may without any papal dispensation be held by them with any other benefice having cure or otherwise incompatible, even if a dignity, major or principal respectively, and elective, personatus or office, with or without cure, in a cathedral or collegiate church.
