1399. 4 Id. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 5.)	To the abbot of Strata Marcella, in the diocese of St. Asaph. Mandate to collate and assign to Howel ap Meredudd, clerk, of the diocese of St. Davids, if found fit in Latin, the chancellorship, value not exceeding 100 marks, of Abergwyli, to which is annexed the parish church, called the prebend, of Llanbister, void because John Quernbi, who is to be removed, has held it for a year and more without being promoted to holy orders, and without dispensation. Dignum arbitramur.

1400. 13 Kal. March. St. Peter's, Rome. (f.101.)	To Walter Dolbeara, member of the pope's household. Provision motu proprio of the canonry and prebend of Wells, value not exceeding 30 marks, void and reserved to the pope by the death, at the apostolic see, of John Maunder; notwithstanding that he holds the parish church of Southull and a canonry and prebend of St. Thomas the Martyr's, Glasneye, in the diocese of Exeter, value together not exceeding 70 marks, and under other letters of the pope, canonries of Salisbury and Exeter, with expectation of prebends; and that the pope has lately granted him provision of a benefice with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishop and the dean and chapter of Exeter and of the Augustinian prior and convent of Plympton, in that diocese. Any provision which the pope may have made or ordered to be made thereof to another is hereby annulled. Grata tue familiaritatis.

Reservation motu proprio of a canonry and prebend of York, value not exceeding 80 marks, shortly to become void through the promotion, made this day by the pope, and the approaching consecration, of John [Botlesham, added on f.198], elect of Rochester. Vite ac morum.
	Concurrent mandate to the bishops of London and Tuy and the official of London. Vite etc. (De mandato.)

Reservation motu proprio of a canonry and prebend of Lincoln, value not exceeding 70 marks, about to become void as above, f. 197; notwithstanding if the pope has this day or under any other date collated or reserved the same to other or others, such grace or graces, unless they make verbatim mention of these presents, being declared null and void. The like in Elphin; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of a canonry of Ardagh with expectation of a prebend, and of the rectory, without cure, of Monterangaly, in the diocese of Ardagh. 1400. 9 Kal. May. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 272.)	To the abbot of Malmesbury. Mandate to make provision to Morice, scholar, of the diocese of Worcester, in his thirteenth year, son of John de Berkeley, knight—whom the pope recently (above, p. 308) dispensed to hold in his said thirteenth year a benefice with cure, even if an elective dignity with cure, major or principal and united respectively, personatus or office in a metropolitan, cathedral or collegiate church, and to resign it, for exchange or otherwise [as often as he pleased], and hold instead a similar or dissimilar benefice—after he has received the tonsure, of a canonry of Salisbury and another of Wells and to reserve to him, if found fit in reading, construing, singing and speaking Latin, or if he swear to become so within a year, a prebend in each and a benefice with or without cure, value not exceeding 60 marks or 40 accordingly, in the common or several gift of the bishops of Salisbury and Wells and of the Benedictine abbot and convent of Glastonbury, the Augustinian abbot and convent of Sussetre in the diocese of Worcester, and the Benedictine abbess and convent of Shaftesbury in the diocese of Salisbury, even if an elective dignity, major or principal respectively, personatus or office, with or without cure, in one of the said two churches or in a collegiate church; or, if not found fit and if he do not so swear, the said prebends and a benefice without cure wont to be assigned to secular clerks.
