The said Thomas, William Thurstan, Matthew de Skinnere, Richard le Skinnere, William Digher, Thomas Bretford, John Stone, and William Dumbrendale, citizens of Salisbury, attacked the cardinal's sub-executor and proctor with drawn swords, took them out of the church, and would have killed them, had not a canon and a vicar of the said church intervened; John de Breydon; who had papal expectation of a prebend, two years after that of the cardinal, being a party to the said violence, and unlawfully holding the said prebend and treasurership. |
