PRAYERS.

The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day.

Letter from the E. of Bristol to the Speaker, sent to the King unopened.

This Day the Speaker acquainted the House, "That he had received a sealed Letter, by the Hand of a Peer of this House (meaning the Earl of North'ton), directed to the Speaker of the House of Peers." And in regard the House did not know from whom the said Letter came, the Earl of North'ton acquainted the House, "That the Countess of Bristol gave it his Lordship at the Door, desiring him to deliver it to the Speaker; and that he conceived it came from the Earl of Bristol."

Whereupon the House thought fit to send the said Letter to the King; and the Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, then Speaker, was ordered by the House to present the same to the King accordingly.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for preventing of Abatement of Writs of Error upon Judgements in the Exchequer."
