Port of Wells Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the repairing and better preserving the Key of the Port of Wells, in the County of Norfolke."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations and Amendments now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Earl of Dorsett reported, "That the Committee have considered of the Bill for governing the Hospital of St. Oswald, and think it fit to pass as it is, without any Alteration."

St. Oswald's Hospital Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for governing of the Hospital of St. Oswald, in the County of Worcester."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with these Bills.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir William Glascocke and Sir Walter Littleton:

To return them the Bill for repairing the Key of the Port of Wells, wherein the Lords have made some Alterations, and desire their Concurrence therein.

2. To let them know, that the Lords have passed the Bill for the governing of the Hospital of St. Oswald, without any Amendment.

Bill for Encouragement of Trade.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the Encouragement of Trade."

Certificate concerning Yarmouth and Leostoff.

The Lord Cornwallis presented to the House a Certificate, under the Hands of the Sheriffs of the Counties of Norfolke and Suffolke, to signify, "That, according to the Order of this House, they have measured the Seven Miles from Yarmouth, &c. to Lowstofte:" Which was read, as follows:

"To the Right Honourable the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled in the High Court of Parliament.

"We, the several and respective Sheriffs of the Counties of Norfolke and Suffolke, do humbly certify to your Lordships, That, in Obedience to an Order of your Honourable House, bearing Date on Monday the Thirteenth Day of April last past, and of a former Judgement of your Honours, bearing Date the Six and Twentieth of February, in the Year of our LORD One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty and One, we have measured, from The Crane Key in the Haven of Great Yarmouth, mentioned in your Lordships said last mentioned Judgement, Seven Miles, extending towards Lowstoft, therein likewise mentioned.

"And, in further Pursuance of the said several Orders and Judgements, have, at the End of the said Seven Miles, set up a new Post, for the bounding of the Limits, &c. according to your said Orders and Judgements, this present Wednesday, being the Tenth Day of June, in the Fifteenth Year of His Majesty's Reign.

"Joseph Brand, Vic. Suff.

"Tho. Meadowes, Vic. Norff."

Upon this, James Wilde did declare upon Oath, at this Bar, "That the Hand-writings wherewith the said Certificate is subscribed are the Hand-writings of the several and respective Sheriffs of the Counties of Norff. and Suff.; and he did see them write the same."

Ld. Byron's Bill.

The Lord Howard of Charlt. reported, "That the Committee for the Lord Byron's Bill have examined several Witnesses, to prove the Copy of the Deeds; whereupon the Committee are of Opinion, the said Bill is fit to be engrossed, with the Alterations formerly reported."

Which was ordered accordingly.

Bill against Gaming.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act against deceitful, disorderly, and excessive Gaming."

Daniel, E. of Oxon's Servant, arrested.

Upon Information to this House, and the Oath made at this Bar by John Sudbury, "That Laurance Althorp, Under Sheriff of the County of Nottingham, hath arrested the Body of Mr. William Danyell, being attested Servant to the Earl of Oxon under his Lordship's Hand and Seal; notwithstanding the said Attestation was shewed to him, he not only pursued the Arrest, but said, "He valued the Lord of Oxon's Protection no more than the Straw at his Feet;" with other audacious Expressions, contrary to the Privilege of Peerage."

And the Earl of Oxon, being present, did avow the said William Danyell to be his menial Servant.

Althorpe to be attached.

Whereupon it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House shall attach the Body of the said Laurance Altborp, and bring him before the Lords in Parliament, as a Delinquent, to answer his said Offences; at which Time the said William Danyell shall be likewise brought before the Lords in Parliament.

Committees to meet.

ORDERED, That the Committee to consider of putting into Execution the Act for Repair of the Streets, and the Committee for Newport's Bill, do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.
