PRAYERS.

Ld. Abergaveny and Dowager Ly. Abergaveny.

Whereas the now Lord of Abergaveny and the Lady Dowager of Abergaveny did, on the Seventh of May last, submit all Matters in Difference between them, either in Law or Equity, to the Judgement of this House; whereupon this House ordered, That the Lord Privy Seal, the Earl of North'on, the Lord Lovelace, and the Lord Ashley should be Referees, to examine and endeavour a Composure thereof, or else to report their Opinion to this House:

It is this Day ORDERED, That the Lord Chamberlain, the Earl of Dorset, the Lord Viscount Campden, the Lord Bishop of Winton, the Bishop of Lyncolne, the Lord Arundell, the Lord Craven, the Lord Mohun, the Lord Lucas, and the Lord Lexington, be added to the said Referees; whose Lordships, or any Three of them, are to meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock, to proceed in the said Business, and to adjourn themselves as they please.

E. of Middlesex to be confined to his own House.

Upon reading the Petition of Lyonell Earl of Middlesex, "That, before their Lordships Confinement of him to The Tower, he had an Indisposition of Health, and had designed a Course of Physic for the Recovery of it, which he is now necessitated to do, by reason that the Place and his Confinement have much endangered it; therefore prays that he may be a Prisoner to his own House, until their Lordships do signify their further Pleasure to dispose of him; by which he shall have those Conveniencies for the Recovery of his Health which this Place of Confinement denies him."

Also a Certificate from Doctor Prujean, his Physician, was read; shewing, "That the Earl of Midd. is in an Indisposition of Health, and taketh Physic, which, by reason of his Confinement, neither hath nor (in Probability) will have the good Effect it is designed for."

The House taking the said Petition into Consideration ; after some Debate,

The Question being put, "Whether this Petition shall be granted?

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Upon the Petition of the Earl of Middlesex, read this Day in the House:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, upon the Question, That his Lordship shall be discharged from his present Imprisonment in The Tower of London, and be confined as a Prisoner to his own House in London, until the Pleasure of this House be further signified.

E. of Bridgewater confined to his own House.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Bridgwater shall be released from his present Restraint under the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, that he now lies under; and is hereby confined as a Prisoner to his own House in Barbican, until the Pleasure of this House be further signified.

E. of Bridgewater and E. of Middlesex Business.

ORDERED, That this House will on Saturday Morning next proceed in the Consideration of the Business between the Earl of Bridgwater and the Earl of Midd. concerning the Manner of the Proceedings therein.

Message from H. C. with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir George Downing and others; who brought up Three Bills, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence:

1. "An Act for the Encouragement of Trade."

2. "An Act for regulating Select Vestries."

3. "An Act for the keeping and holding of the Court of Great Sessions, and of the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace, for the County of Carnarvon, at the Town of Carnarvon, in the said County, for ever."

Marq. of Winton's Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Marquis of Winton's Bill do meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon.

Concerning Lords delivering in Accompts into the Exchequer upon Oath or Honour.

Upon Information given this Day to the House by the Lord Ashly, "That divers Lords are to deliver in Accompts into the Exchequer, for Monies that they have received for Public Employments; and they desire to know, whether the said Accompts should be delivered in upon Honour, or upon Oath:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That it be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for Privileges, whose Lordships are to meet on Monday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon; at which Time the Barons of the Exchequer, or some of them, are ordered to assist the said Committee.

Zouch versus Bedingfield.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause of Sir Allan Zouch and Dame Katherine his Wife Plaintiffs, upon their Petition depending before their Lordships against Anne Bedingfeild Defendant, concerning a Decree in Chancery, shall be heard, at this Bar, on Thursday the Twenty-fifth Day of this Instant June, at Ten of the Clock in the Morning; at which Time both Parties are, with their Counsel and Witnesses (having timely Notice), to attend the said Hearing accordingly.

Clapham versus Bowyer.

Upon Report of the Lord Privy Seal, made this Day, from the Committee for Petitions, upon the Petition of Sir Ralph Clapham Knight and Baronet Plaintiff, against William Bowyer of London Salter, concerning Two Houses, the One in Friday-streat, the other in Distaff-lane, London, which the said Committee thought worthy of the Consideration of this House:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That both Parties, by their Counsel and Witnesses, shall be heard, at this Bar, on Tuesday the Twenty-third of this Instant June, at Ten of the Clock in the Morning; at which Time the Parties concerned are to attend the said Hearing accordingly.

Feltham, concerning his Wife being taken away.

Upon the Report of the Lord Chief Justice of England, made this Day to the House, touching the Business concerning Mr. Owen Feltham, in relation to a Gentlewoman that he affirms to be his Wife, which is now kept from him; and that his Lordship, upon Examination on both Sides, thinks it fit to be determined at the Law:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, upon the Question, That the Petition of the said Owen Feltham, now depending before their Lordships, touching the said Business, is hereby dismissed this House, and he left to his ordinary Remedy at the Law.

Crofts, Ld. Morley's Servant, arrested:

Sir W. Turner, Plowman; & al. sent for.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir William Turner Knight, Sheriff of London and Midd. John Browne, John Foreman, Serjeants, Henry Ploweman, Henry Nayler, and Mary Royston, Creditors, are to appear before the Lords in Parliament on Monday next, and shew Cause why Mr. Crofts, a menial Servant of the Lord Morley, hath been arrested and detained in Prison by them, or by their Means, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, who is to be brought before the Lords at the same Time: And hereof neither they nor any of them are to fail, as the contrary is to be answered to this House.
