to one of his Deputies viz. Samuel Spofforth Esq. Deputy Surveyor

or Summer Islands thereto appointed (on Treasury nomination)
by instrument under the hand of said Blathwayt dated 26 April 1701. |

You are to apply yourself to the inspection, examining and stating
all accompts of all such rents, revenues, prizes, fines, escheats,
seizures, forfeitures, Duties, and profits whatsoever as have happened
or fallen since the first war between his late Majesty Charles II
and the States General of the United Provinces (since his said late
Majesty's Restoration) or which shall hereafter arise or accrue to
her Majesty; her heirs &c. |

(2) You are to inform yourself in the best manner you can of
what rents, revenues, Duties and profits either by the public lands
or otherwise in those islands have accrued or become due to the
Crown within the time above mentioned or hereafter shall accrue
and have not been duly answered, paid or satisfied to the proper
officers of the Crown; and to endeavour by all lawful wages and
means that the same be recovered and answered or paid to the
proper officers for her Majesty's use. |

(3) Every 6 months transmit to me, fairly written and attested
under your hand, all such accompts of the public revenues or other
profits as you have or shall examine and state in pursuance of the
powers herein: and duplicates thereof by the next conveyance. |
|
(4) In like manner send to me attested copies of all such Acts
or public orders past at any time relating to the public revenues
and profits in those islands; which [Acts] are to be delivered to
you by the Secretary of the said Islands upon your application to
the General or Commander-in-Chief. |
|
(5) Inform me by all opportunities of all such moneys or other
profits as you recover for her Majesty's use or whereof you have
information as rightly belonging to her Majesty. |
|
(6) [Inform me] of any other matters or things come to your
knowledge which shall be of advantage to her Majesty's revenue
