Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Edward Mansell Esquire, to mortgage or sell the Impropriate Rectories of Lanriddian and Penrice, for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions for Younger Children; and for settling the Manor of Hen-Llys, and other Lands, of more Value."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please: The House being moved, "That, in regard of the Shortness of this Session, the Committee might meet sooner than by their Standing Order they ought to have done."

Dye et al. versus Thwayte.

Upon reading the Petition of John Dye and Frances his Wife, Dame Susannah Bridgeman, Sarah Pauncefoote, Grimbald Pauncefoote Esquire, and Christopher Cratford Gentleman; shewing, "That, by an Order of this House, of the Three and Twentieth of May One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, James Thwaytes was allowed to have a Trial at Law, upon an Issue directed by this House, which yet hath not been had; whereby the Petitioner the Lady Bridgeman cannot have her Money, or assign her Mortgage, whilst the Pretence of the said Order hangs over it; and praying that the Decree of the Exchequer, founded on the Verdict of the former Trial, may be affirmed:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said James Thwaytes may have a Copy of the said Petition; and that this House will, on Saturday the Three and Twentieth Instant, hear One Counsel for the Petitioners, and also One Counsel for the said James Thwaytes, upon the Subject-matter of the said Petition.

Growth of Popery, to prevent, Bill:

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Williams versus Williams.

Upon reading the Petition of Katherine Williams and Elizabeth Williams, Respondents to the Appeal of John Williams; shewing, "That the Petitioners were not served with the Order of this House, for answering to the said Appeal, until the Sixth of March Instant; and that the Petitioner being infirm, and One Hundred and Ten Miles distant from London, and her Solicitors, in whose Hands her Papers are, is gone the Circuit; and praying further Time for answering to the said Appeal:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Time allowed them, for answering thereunto, until Wednesday the Seven and Twentieth Day of this Instant March, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Sir Josiah Child's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting certain Lands and Tenements of Sir Josiah Child Baronet, deceased, in Trustees, for the better Performance of certain Covenants entered into by the said Sir Josiah Child upon the Marriage of his Eldest Son with the Daughter of Sir Thomas Cooke Knight."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to the same Committee to whom Mr. Mansell's Bill stands committed; who are to meet the Third Day of April next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Thorowgood versus Cordell.

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein John Thorowgood and Rebecca his Wife are Appellants, and Edmund Cordell is Respondent:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.
