	Same by same to Auditor Brooke Bridges to allow in Sir William Robinson's account as Paymaster of the Forces in Ireland the sum of 16l. 13s. 4d. for loss by guineas, he having been allowed [charged] at the rate of 1l. 1s. l0d. for 1000 guineas imprested to him for buying shoes and stockings at Chester whereas in 1689 (when those provisions appear to have been made) guineas did not pass in England at a higher rate than ll. 1s. 6d. Prefixing : said Bridges' report hereon to Treasurer Godolphin. With regard to the cost of passing the petitioner's account, same will amount to 20l. at the least "but by a late regulation of fees made by your Lordship upon a report signed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Mr. Lowndes it is directed that where any accomptant shall be called to account by process grounded upon any super set upon him, such person shall be at the charge of his own account without availing himself of his own neglect." 	Same by same to the Surveyor General of Crown Lands for a particular of a piece of land in Greencloth Yard in Whitehall in order to extension of lease thereof to Thomas Wyndham. Prefixing : said Surveyor's report dated 1704 June 10 on Wyndham's petition for same. The land measures 51 feet by 28 feet on which he has lately erected a house which is now in possession of Mr. Fox, Paymaster of the Army, and consists of one parlour and a kitchen on the ground floor and 2 very small offices in the yard behind the house, 2 rooms, one pair of stairs, 2 small garrets and 2 small closets. Fox pays 50l. a year for it and Mr. Wyndham stands to repairs and taxes. Ibid., p. 389.
	Same by same to same for a particular of premises [a tenement in Tretherappe co. Cornwall part of the late priory of Tywardreath &c.] in order to a lease thereof to Mathew Rescorla. Prefixing : Surveyor General's report ut supra dated 1704 Sept. 9. The premises were granted in 1684 to William Brown gent in trust for Johnson Pascoe for 99 years terminable on the lives of Pascoe's three children. Ibid., p. 390.
	Same by same to same for a particular of a tenement called Le Hay in Haye [? Hale] co. Cornwall in order to a lease thereof to John Baker, clerk, rector of Cardinham, within which the premises lie. Prefixing : report ut supra dated 1704 Dec. 7. Ibid., pp. 391-2.
	Same by same to Edward Wilcox, Surveyor General of Woods, Trent South, to execute repairs in Hampton Court Middle Park (three stacks of chimneys and the cornish of one side of the great lodge blown down by the last great tempest and the stables and outhouses and the Keepers' lodges) as desired by Edward Progers, Keeper thereof : to a total of 198l. : to be provided out of wood sales. 	Same by same to auditor Edward Harley to prepare for declaration the account of Samuell Burton, Receiver of the rents of the late Hospital of the Savoy ; to wit for 2 years ended 1704 Sept. 29. Prefixing : state of said account : total charge : receipts of rents &c., 2310l. 11s. 9½d. : total discharge 2084l. 3s. 2½d. including 1244l. 9s. 1d. paid into the Exchequer and 247l. 10s. 3½d. for allowance of land tax to such tenants [of lands of the Hospital] as have not covenanted to pay same ; and 141l. 11s. 10d. for money paid to Sir John Cooke, her Majesty's Advocate General, Richard Crawley, Register of the High Court of Delegates, Robert Walmer and Thomas Crocker, officers employed in the two last visitations of the said late Hospital, for their disbursements and fees in the said visitations by warrant of the Lord Treasurer dated 6 July 1703. The accomptant further charges 362l. 17s. 7d. upon Mr. Needham, the late Receiver of said Hospital and Mr. Jacob Balderston, his deputy, for rents which became due in the interval between the death of Dr. Killegrew the late Master [of the Hospital] who died about Lady day 1700, and Sept. 1702 being the date when the revenue came under the collection of this accomptant. Letter of direction for 21,500l. to Charles Fox [Paymaster of the Forces Abroad] out of loans on the Land Tax anno 1705 : to be applied towards the subsistence of the Subject Troops and full pay of the Foreign Forces of the 40,000 men from Jan. 24 inst. William Lowndes to said Fox to immediately pay back this sum into the Exchequer in the name of John Aynstis as the produce of her Majesty's tin and to be applied towards the repayment of loans in course charged thereupon. Mr. Drumond who is now in Holland (to whom a considerable parcel of said tin has been consigned to be disposed of there) has been ordered by the Lord Treasurer to pay 21,500l. to Mr. Sweet out of money advanced [or to be realised] on said tin. 	Same by same to [the Revenue Commissioners Ireland] to stay process against Thomas Griffith, late collector of Sligo in Ireland, one of the sureties of William Griffith, his brother and predecessor in said office who in his last illness was deprived of his senses and defrauded by his servants and thereby died in debt to the Crown : the said Thomas and his co-sureties being arrested in November last and put in prison whereby he lost the said employment and they are all in miserable circumstances by reason of the calamity of the present war. Treasury reference to Auditor Shales of the petition of Sir John St. Barbe et al, trustees for the Free School of Chudleigh co. Devon, shewing that said school was built by one Pynsent and endowed with 30l. per an. out of land at Coombe near Croydon co. Surrey ; that said land is seized by the Crown under the late Act [1 Anne St. 2 c. 16 clause 3] for seizing Whitaker's estate and the said annuity is a year and a half in arrear : therefore praying payment of same and to be paid half yearly for the future. William Lowndes to the Navy Commissioners to make out bills for repaying to the Collectors of Customs of the respective ports the several sums by them advanced for imprest, conduct money and subsistence of seafaring men raised for the service of the Navy in 1693-6 amounting to 630l. 0s. 7d. and 2769l. 1s. 0d. according to the certificate of Rowland Holt, Comptroller General of the Accounts of the Customs : all by reason that the accounts not only of the said Collectors but also the General accounts of the Customs are retarded and cannot be perfected because the said sums have not yet been repaid to the said Collectors.
