Treasury reference to the Customs Commissioners of the petition
of Sir Basil Firebrace shewing that he has had the aid of the Exchequer
for recovery of 1100l. for which an extent is issued in his

cannot levy same unless he owe the Queen at least as much as his
debt in aid amounts to and his debtor is importuning him to forbear
executing the said extent until Lady day next : therefore prays
directions to the Customs Commissioners not to press him (Sir Basil)
for 1170l. for the Customs of wine until Lady day next in regard

Same to the Salt Commissioners of the petition of Richard
Lamplugh shewing that in 1700 he shipped 6-700 bushel of salt
for Scotland and gave bond for 118l. Duty and procured a debenture
but when he produced said debenture for allowance the collector
at the port of export told him he would allow of no debentures for
salt exported to Scotland : therefore prays relief, the Parliament
having lately explained the clause relating to the exportation into
Scotland and in an Act of the last Session [2-3 Anne c. 16] do enact
that salt exported to Scotland ought not to pay any Duty. Ibid.
