to them are to be entered with the said Comptrollers.

one day's pay and all other things composing the voluntary charge
in the Paymaster's accounts.
(7) to keep an account of all payments to Colonels, Agents,
clothiers &c. and to examine the vouchers thereof and to see whether
moneys received by the Colonels or their Agents for subsistence and
clearings be justly and duly paid to the Captains and by them to the
subalterns and private men.
(8) to enquire as to the observance of the Mutiny Act and to take
care that the muster rolls be immediately closed at the quarters or
garrison and the parchment roll transmitted by the Deputy Commissary
direct to the Paymaster's Office to prevent any alteration
after closing.

Report to the Lord Treasurer from William Blathwayt [as Auditor
General of the Plantations] on a bill of disbursements by Col. John
Dudley, Governor of Massachusetts Bay and New Hampshire in
raising a Foot Company of soldiers under Capt. Thomas Larrimore. I
do remember that directions were sent last year to said Col. Dudley
for raising volunteers in New England intended to serve in the West
Indies under the command of the Earl of Peterborough and I have
been further informed from Col. Dudley that one Company of
Volunteers had been accordingly raised by him and sent away to
Jamaica before any notice could be received of the disappointment
of that Expedition. The giving of the said directions is further
certified by the Earl of Nottingham's letter [below]. The sum
demanded for raising the said Company and despatching it away
does not seem to be extraordinary for such an occasion.

given to the master keeper of the Walk ; that Sir Thomas Skipwith
received that favour last but his assigns did not fence the premises
as they ought : that the whole contains 23 acres and it will be no
prejudice to the vert and venison of the forest to assart the same
and make arable or pasture ground thereof, there being sufficient
and much better covert for the deer near those groves than ever
they were or are like to be. The timber now on the ground should
be viewed by an officer of the Crown and the lessee should be obliged
to plant every year a certain number of young trees of oak, elm or
