several inventories to be made thereof and send one of those inventories along with the person so instructed and give another to the
Captain and another to this [Treasury] Board by the first conveyance; and that he give directions (in case of the death of the person
so entrusted) to the captain of the man of war to take care of the
[pirates'] treasure. |

respective schemes for the guard of the coast of Kent and Sussex
are read. They agree as to the riding officers and their salaries,
amounting to 4570l. per an. My Lords approve the whole scheme
as presented by the Commissioners. Mr. Corkish, Mr. Ogilvy and
Mr. Owen to be riding officers, also Cadwallader Glin, Richard King,

The Commissioners for the late Duties of Glass, Pipes and Paper
[attend]. They have dismissed all their officers except those in the
Office itself; [there are oustanding] arrears of about 900l. on the
Paper Act, about 6000l. on glass, about 7000l. on earthenware:
but there are many debentures [for drawbacks] standing out. |

They are to present my Lords with the case concerning the
debentures made forth without observing the requisites [prescribed]
by the Act. They shall balance with the glass makers in 3 months.

4000l. (out of loans in the Exchequer) to be issued for Sick and
Wounded out of the 300,000l. being the remainder of 800,000l.

The abstracts of the accounts for Philip Packer, late Paymaster of
the Works, are read. |

Mr. Atherton claims 401l. 12s. 8¾d. due to him for which he signed
the office book upon John Packer's promising to pay the same.
Mr. Phillip Packer now promises that this sum shall be paid upon
Mr. Atherton's swearing that this sum is due to him. The Auditors
will prepare a privy seal for passing Mr. Packer's accounts. |

Direct the Auditors to examine the particular vouchers of Mr.
Lloyd, Paymaster of the Works, for every payment made by him
and not depend entirely on the examination of the officers of the
Works. |

[Write] to the Earl of Montagu signifying to him that my Lords
have received a representation from the auditor concerning his
lordship's demand of 2200l. per an. (send him a copy of it) and that
