General has so managed the prosecution that after three-quarters of
a year the King's Bench has discharged him in that Court without
bringing the cause to trial and has ordered a new information for
the same matter in the Exchequer. So that my Lords are in doubt
when the cause will be ended; and therefore desire the King's
pleasure as to the disposing the said office at Newcastle. |

As to the King's delay to sign the warrant for the Admiralty
Lords' salaries until the Treasury Lords report their opinion whether
the First Lord should be distinguished from the next by an increase
of salary in respect of the greater trust and extraordinary charge
he will be obliged to be at, my Lords are perfectly unacquainted
with any extraordinary charge or trust in the First Commissioner of
the Admiralty more than in the rest and they do not know that

explained by a clause in the Act of Frauds of 14 Car. II, c. 7
that his Majesty's subjects of England, Ireland and the Plantations
are to be accounted English and no others; upon the construction
of which law an opinion of King's Counsel was formerly taken that
Scotchmen unless habiting in England are not to be accounted
English within the meaning of the said clause: but that the
present case is a compassionate one, he having been cast away &c.

survey lately take of the manor of East Greenwich the reputed manor
of Old Court was found to consist of tithes of Greenwich with some
houses and many parcels of demesne lands of the said manor of
Greenwich but without any quit rents or royalties attaching to it.
It formed part of the Queen Dowager's jointure and in June 1676
was granted by Charles II. to Sir William Boreman whose interest
is now vested in petitioner and John Bennet of Grays Inn in trust
for petitioner. |

Sedgwick Park in Sussex is also part of the Queen Dowager's
jointure who has granted a lease for three lives, the interest of which
