Message from H. C. to remind the Lords of the Sheriffs Accompts, Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Samuel Bernardiston and others:
To put this House in Mind of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Ease of Sheriffs, in Execution of their Offices, and passing their Accompts."
Turkey Goods, Two Ships to import, Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for importing several Goods and Merchandizes laden in Turkey on board the Ships called The Success and Dragon Galley, paying Customs as if imported by English Ships."
ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.
Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.
After some Time, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."
State of Trade.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Report from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the State of the Trade of this Kingdom shall be made on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
Relief of Creditors, in Cases of Bankruptcy, Bill.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of Creditors, by making Compositions with their Debtors, in case Two Thirds in Number and Value do agree."
After some Time, the House was resumed.
And the Lord Cornwallis reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the said Bill, and desire Leave to sit again."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee on Friday next, at Eleven of the Clock, to proceed on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of Creditors, by making Compositions with their Debtors, in case Two Thirds in Number and Value do agree;" at which Time any Persons concerned may be heard, by themselves or Counsel, in relation to a Clause this Day offered, "That the Debtor shall give a perfect List of his Estate and Effects, upon Oath."
Warburton's Bill.
The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to sell the Estate of Richard Warburton Clerk, for Payment of his Debts, and raising Portions for his Children," as fit to pass, with One Amendment.
Which, being read Twice, was agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendment.
Highways, for enlarging, Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enlarging common Highways."
ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.
Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.
After some Time, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."
To which the House agreed.
