E. Derby versus Sawrey.
The Earl of Stamford reported from the Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the Petition of the Earl of Derby, "That it appears to their Lordships, by a Paper under the Earl of Derby's Hand and Seal, that Mr. Gibson had Authority to act for the said Earl; but that Authority was not produced in the Court of Exchequer: And therefore the Committee thought fit to report this Matter specially."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Report made this Day from the Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the Petition of the Earl of Derby, shall be considered on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
Sawrey versus E. Derby.
Upon reading the Petition of George Sawrey, and Jeremiah Sawrey his Son:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Derby may have a Copy of the said Petition; and answer thereunto on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
Coward versus L. Mohun.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Monday next, at Eleven of the Clock, this House will hear the Cause wherein Serjeant Coward and the Lady Mohun his Wife are Appellants, and the Lord Mohun and others Respondents.
Turkey Goods, Two Ships to import, Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for importing several Goods and Merchandize laden in Turkey on board the Ships called The Success and Dragon Galley, paying Customs as if imported by English Ships."
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.
Message from H. C. with a Bill.
A Message from the House of Commons, by Colonel Wharton and others:
Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing several former Acts for punishing Officers and Soldiers who shall mutiny, or desert His Majesty's Service; and for punishing false Musters, and for Payment of Quarters for One Year longer;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Message from thence, for a Conference on the Bill to prohibit India Silks, &c.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Heveningham and others:
To desire a Free Conference with this House, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference.
Answer.
The Commons were called in; and told, "The Lords have considered of their Message; and will return an Answer by Messengers of their own."
Admiralty Committee.
ORDERED, That the Committee be revived concerning the Admiralty, to meet on Thursday next.
Adjourn.
