This Day Edward Earl of Lyncolne and George Lord Dartmouth took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Le Grand & al. Nat. Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the naturalizing of David Le Grand and others."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass into a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Coke and Sir John Franckling:

To deliver to them the Bill for the naturalizing of David Le Grand and others; and to desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Dashwood, &c. versus Champante.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Sir Robert Dashwood and others are Plaintiffs, and Sir John Champante is Defendant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Friday the Fourth Day of April next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Bill to recognize K. Will. and Q. Mary; and to confirm the Act. of the last Parliament.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for declaring the Acts of the late Parliament, begun and held at Westm. the 13 Day of February, 1688, to be of full Force and Effect by the Laws of this Realm, and for recognizing Their now Majesties King William and Queen Mary to be by the Laws of this Realm our rightful and lawful Liege Lord and Lady, King and Queen of this Realm."

ORDERED, That this Bill be, and is hereby, committed to a Committee of the whole House; and to be taken into Consideration on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; at which Time no other Business is to intervene; and all the Lords in and about the Town to be summoned to attend.

Bill for vacating several Letters Patents.

Dod & al. versus Burrows.

ORDERED, That this House will hear the Cause depending in this House, wherein Anne Dod is Plaintiff, and Thomas Burrowes is Defendant, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Monday the Seventh Day of April next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Order about Peers Protections.

Upon reading this Day in the House the several Lists delivered in by the Sheriffs of London and Midd. the Bailiff of the Borough of Southwark, the Marshal of The Marshallsea, and the Steward of Westm. and their Officers to whom it did belong, pursuant to an Order of the 24 Instant, of the Protections entered in their Offices, in the Names of any Peers or Members of this House, and to whom they were granted:

After due Consideration had of the Numbers of Persons therein protected, and for preventing the like Irregularities for the future, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all the Protections which are now given, by any Peer or Peers, or Members of this House, be, and are hereby declared to be, null and void to all Intents and Purposes whatsoever; and that for the future there shall no Protection or Protections be allowed to be good, valid, or of any Effect, unless they be first entered in the Parliamentoffice at Westminster; and the Protection, so by such Peer or Member certified, shall be entered by the Clerk of the Parliaments, or his Deputy; and that in every such Protection, that shall be so allowed by the Clerk or his Deputy to be entered, there shall be mentioned in it, the Nature or Quality of such Person so protected, and what Office or Place he is in under such Peer or Member of this House: And, that no Persons whatsoever may pretend Ignorance herein, it is further ORDERED, That on the First Day of the Meeting of every Parliament, or Session of Parliaments, and every Fourteenth Day after, in every such Parliament, or Session of Parliament, the Clerk, or his Deputy, shall give the House an Account of what Protections are entered in the said Office, and to whom they are given; and also that this Order be printed and published, and hung up in the Offices, where any such Protections usually are entered.

Protections counterfeited.

Upon reading over the Lists of Protections brought in this (fn. 1) Day by the Sheriffs of London and Midd. the Bailiff of the Borough of Southwarke, the Marshal of The Marshallsea, and the Steward of Westm. by their proper Officers to whom it doth belong, wherein there is found the Names of Peers who have protected several Persons to them unknown; whereby it is evident that those Protections are counterfeited:

Wharton and Liverseidge to be attached.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Sheriffs of London and Midd. or their Deputy or Deputies, do bring, or cause to be brought, into this House, the Body or Bodies of William Wharton, pretended to be protected by the Earl of Devon Lord Steward; Richard Liverseidge, pretended to be protected by his Grace the Duke of Somerset; and also the Protections so entered, with all convenient Speed; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To the Sheriffs of London and Midd. their Deputy and Deputies, and every of them.
