The Speaker reported the Effect of the Prince of Orange's Answer to the Address of both Houses, presented to him Yesterday; which was read, as followeth:
P. of Orange's Answer to the Address.
"My Lords and Gentlemen,
"I am glad that what I have done hath pleased you; and since you desire me to continue the Administration of Affairs, I am willing to accept it. I must recommend to you the Consideration of Affairs Abroad; which maketh it fit for you to expedite your Business, not only for making a Settlement at Home upon a good Foundation, but for the Safety of all Europe."
Address and Answer to be printed.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That the Address made Yesterday to his Highness the Prince of Orange, and his Answer thereunto, be forthwith printed and published.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That Mr. Thomas Hawley and Mr. Thomas Russell, now confined, concerning the Death of the Earl of Essex, in The Tower of London, be and do stand committed Prisoners in the said Tower of London, and be kept apart, till further Order of this House, without speaking to any Person but in the Presence of such as the Lord Lucas shall appoint.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That Major Webster and John Lloyd, now Prisoners in Newgate, concerning the Death of the Earl of Essex, be and do stand committed Prisoners in the said Prison of Newgate, and be kept apart, until further Order of this House, without speaking to any Person but in the Presence of such as the Keeper of Newgate shall appoint.
To the Keeper of the Prison of Newgate, his Deputy and Deputies.
Papists to be prevented from staying in London, &c.
Lords Committees appointed to consider what is fit to be done, to prevent Papists and reputed Papists from staying in the Cities of London and Westminster, and to send for Constables and other Parish Officers, and examine them herein; and to report to this House.
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings; and to adjourn as they please.
and from coming into the Rooms near the Houses.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That no Papist, or reputed Papist, do presume to come into the Lobby, Painted Chamber, Court of Requests, or Westminster Hall, during the Sitting of this Convention: And it is further ORDERED, That this Order be printed and published, and set upon the Doors of the said Rooms.
D. of Norfolk's Petition.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That the Petition of the most Noble Duke of Norfolk be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Petitions; who are to meet this Afternoon, at Four of the Clock; and have Power to send for any Act of Parliament that they shall think fit, relating to the said Petition, and to examine Persons herein, and to report to the House: And it is further ORDERED, That Mr. Charles Mawson and Mr. Parrey Walton, do attend their Lordships this Afternoon, at Four of the Clock.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That all Lords Members of this House, that have received his Highness the Prince of Orange's Letter to meet and sit in this Convention, be desired to attend this House on Friday next, being the 25th Day of January Instant, on which Day the House is to be called.
