Braddon to view the Chamber where the E. of Essex was found dead.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That Mr. Laurance Braddon hath hereby Leave given him to see and view the Chamber in The Tower of London, where the late Earl of Essex was found dead.

To the Lord Lucas the Chief Governor of The Tower of London, or his Deputy or Deputies.

Consideration of his Death.

ORDERED, That Sir John Holt and Mr. Whitlock, Assistants of this House, do attend the Committee, to whom is referred the Consideration of the Earl of Essex's Death, To-morrow at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Lord Privy Seal's Lodgings near the House of Peers, and at such other Times as they shall appoint.

Webster and Lloyd to be examined about it.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That Major Webster and John Lloyd, now Prisoners in Newgate, be brought before the Committee, to whom is referred the Consideration of the Earl of Essex's Death, To-morrow at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon.

To the Keeper of Newgate, his Deputy and Deputies.

Holland and Munday to be attached, for being concerned in it;

This House being informed, "That John Holland and Munday have been concerned in the Death of the late Earl of Essex:"

It is ORDERED, That Sir Thomas Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Bodies of John Holland and Munday, and bring in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer such Things as shall be objected against them.

To the Gentleman Usher attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and to all Mayors, Sheriffs, Bailiffs, Constables, and other Officers, to be aiding and assisting herein.

and Cadman to be examined about it.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That the Marshal of The King's Bench Prison do bring before the Lords Committees, to whom is referred the Consideration of the Earl of Essex's Death, Cadman, now Prisoner in his Custody, To-morrow at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon; who are to meet in the Lord Privy Seal's Lodgings near the House of Peers.

To the Keeper or Marshal of The King's Bench Prison, his Deputy or Deputies.

D. Norfolk's Petition, versus Colonel Maxwell & al.

The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Committee of Petitions, to whom was referred the Petition of Henry Duke of Norfolke, "That they are of Opinion, That the Act made 3° Caroli Primi, mentioned in the said Petition, be brought by the Clerk to this House Tomorrow Morning, and that that Part of the said Act which relates to the Goods mentioned in the said Petition may be read."

Whereupon the said Act was produced, and that Clause read.

And the House, upon Consideration thereof, made the ensuing Order; (videlicet,)

His Ancestors Pictures, &c. not to be sold.

"Upon Report from the Lords Committees for Petitions, to whom was referred the Petition of Henry Duke of Norff. shewing, That, by an Act made Tertio Caroli Primi, divers Statues, Pictures, and Drawings, of the Petitioner's Ancestors should remain and be Heir Looms annexed to the Honour; and that most of the said Statues, Pictures, and Drawings have been preserved in the Family till now of late, that Colonel Maxwell, under Pretence and in Right of his Wife Jane Dutchess of Norffs. hath exposed them to Sale by Auction intended to be opened this Day; and praying, That the Sale of the said Pictures and Drawings may be stayed, until the Petitioner may exhibit his Claim to the same in some Court of Law or Equity: It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westm. That in regard the Courts of Law and Equity in Westminster Hall are not at present open, whereby the Petitioner might have Relief for the Matters complained of in the Petition, that the Sale intended of the said Goods be, and is hereby, stayed until the Petitioner have an Opportunity to exhibit his Bill in Chancery, and a perfect Answer to be put in to the same, and Four Days after; their Lordships declaring, that the Petitioner do and shall exhibit his Bill in Chancery, for the Matters aforesaid, as soon as the said Court of Chancery shall be open: And the said Colonel Maxwell, the Lady Dutchess his Wife, Mr. Charles Mawson, and Mr. Parry Walton, are not to sell or dispose the said Goods, or any of them, in the mean Time."

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That Mr. William Browne hath hereby Leave given him to come to and abide in the Cities of London and Westm. to expedite some Business here, for One Month from the Date hereof; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

E. of Peterborough's Petition.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the Petition of the Earl of Peterborough be, and is hereby, put off; to be considered of To-morrow at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, at which Time the House will be called.
