A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Meredith:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Coin, ill State of, for remedying, Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for remedying the ill State of the Coin of the Kingdom."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Baldwin and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting several Messuages and Lands, belonging to Samuel Powell Esquire, in Trustees, for Payment of his Debts;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir William Williams and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for preventing Charge and Expence in Elections of Members to serve in Parliament;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the Lords Amendments therein.

Report from the Committee, to consider of the Balance of Trade, concerning Exports and Imports; and concerning the Proprietary Colonies being subject to the Plantation Laws, and general Laws for Trade.

The Earl of Manchester reported from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of Papers delivered from the Commissioners of the Customs the Thirtieth of December last, as follows; (videlicet,)

"That their Lordships, on Consideration of the said Papers touching the Balance of Trade, referred to them, have had the Commissioners and Officers for the Customs before them; and their Lordships find, that to have a perfect Account of the Exportations and Importations, will take up more Time than they apprehend this Session will afford.

"That the said Commissioners have begun the Work, in Pursuance of their Lordships Order, and have shewed some Specimens thereof; and are directed, by their Lordships, to proceed therein for the Three last Years; and that they give as particular Account of the several Sorts of Manufactures for the Time to come as they can, with the least Prejudice to the Merchants that may be.

"That whereas the Commissioners of Customs had said, "The several Plantations under Proprietors by Grants from the Crown were subject to the Acts for Trade, and other Plantation Laws, in like Manner as are all other the English Plantations;" yet they are now become sensible, that it would be necessary to strengthen the Acts of Navigation, for a further Security of the Trade of those Plantations; and they are in great Forwardness to offer some Bills to that Purpose.

"Their Lordships likewise took Notice to them of their Letter, which they had prepared to send, as from themselves, to the several Governors of those Plantations, under the distinct Proprietors; which their Lordships recommended to them, to make Application to the Lords of the Treasury, that they would move the Council, "That Letters to that Effect might be sent from the Council, as more effectual to the Preservation of the Trade in those Parts;" which the Commissioners have likewise informed their Lordships they have since done, and that it is in a Way to be dispatched accordingly."

Coales et al. to attend on Behalf of the Weavers.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Thomas Coales, Joshuah Sabine, Richard Lavington, Paul Rey, Francis Behille, Thomas Holmes, Isaac Stollsaw, Peter Vivier, James Touley, John Huse, William Savage, George Wragg, Georg Waygee, John Sweetapple, John More, Peter Guyon, Daniel Lion, Peter Onan, Francois Grueber, John Auriol, Ferdinand Bravaud, the Widow St. Amant, Samuel Ecleston, William Murray, Thomas Goodwin, and Charles Gaillard, do attend this House on Friday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to be examined as Witnesses on the Behalf of the Weavers.
