This Day Thomas Lord Morley & Mount-Eagle took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.
Trade of the Kingdom, Report from the Committee for considering of:
The Lord Ferrers reported from the Committee appointed to take into Consideration several Matters relating to the Trade of this Kingdom, "That it is the Opinion of that Committee, that those Persons the Lord Keviton shall have Occasion to examine be protected, coming and going; and that a Message be sent to the House of Commons, for the Lord Cutts to attend."
To which the House agreed; and ordered as follows, (videlicet,)
L. Keviton's Witnesses protected:
"ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That such Witnesses as the Lord Keviton shall find requisite to produce, before the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Papers delivered in by the Commissioners of the Admiralty the Seventeenth of December last, shall and have hereby the Protection of this House, in going and coming, during their Attendance on their Lordships."
Message to H. C. for L. Cutts to attend.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Robert Legard:
To desire that they will give Leave to the Lord Cutts to attend this House, in order to be examined, as a Witness, on the Behalf of the Lord Keviton, before the Lords Committees (appointed by this House for taking into Consideration several Matters relating to the Trade of this Kingdom) touching some Things now under their Examination.
Jerman versus Orchard.
Whereas there is a Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Phillip Jerman is Plaintiff, and Mary Orchard Defendant; upon which Errors are assigned:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Defendant Mary Orchard shall and she is hereby required to join Issue thereupon, on or before Friday the One and Thirtieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Double Returns, &c. to prevent, Bill.
Whereas this Day was appointed for the House to be put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent false and double Returns of Members to serve in Parliament:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee thereupon, on Tuesday the One and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Grahme versus Harnage & al.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of James Grahme Esquire Appellant, against Richard Harnage, Jacques Wiseman, John Singleton, George How, Joseph Devonish, John Prigg, Richard Sutton, James Pawlet, William Smith, William Blinckhorne, and Peter Essington, Respondents, upon a Decree made in the High Court of Chancery the Seven and Twentieth Day of May, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-one, and divers subsequent Orders thereupon:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Richard Harnage and others Respondents may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Fourth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Warner's Bill.
The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling Trustees to sell Part of the Estate of Edmund Warner deceased, for Payment of his Debts; and for preserving the rest for the Benefit of his Heir;" as fit to pass, without any Amendment.
ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed.
Haynes's Bill.
The Earl of Bridgewater also reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Haynes Esquire to settle a Jointure on his now Wife, and to exchange Lands with the Trustees of Thomas Stevens Esquire, deceased," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.
Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the said Bill ordered to be engrossed.
