PRAYERS.
Officers of the Mint, Answer about coining Money.
The Officers of the Mint attending (pursuant to the Order Yesterday) were called in; and delivered a Paper.
Which was read, as followeth; (videlicet,)
"To the Right Honourable the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled.
"In Answer to your Lordships Order of the Thirtieth Instant, we, the Officers of the Mint, do humbly certify and say, That we are now ready to coin Twenty Thousand Pounds a Week, if we had Bullion; and that within Fourteen Days we shall have another Mill, when we can coin Thirty Thousand Pounds a Week; and in Fourteen Days after, we shall have Two Mills more ready to work, when we shall be capacitated to coin betwixt Fifty and Sixty Thousand Pounds a Week; and by setting up more Mills we may be enabled to coin more Money, in Proportion to the Mills that shall be directed to be set up.
December 31th, 1695.

Silver Coinage, for regulating, Bill.
The Earl of Rochester reported from the Select Committee appointed Yesterday to amend a Clause in the Bill for regulating the Coinage of the Silver Money of this Kingdom, "That the Committee had drawn a Clause, to be added to the Bill, to make the clipped Money go by Weight."
Which Clause; being so read, was referred to a Committee of the whole House.
Whereupon, the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.
After some Time, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That it is the Opinion of the Committee, that the Bill be referred to a Select Committee, to adapt the several Clauses in the Bill to the Clause agreed on this Day in the Committee of the whole House."
To which the House agreed; and ordered as follows; (videlicet,)
"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Committee appointed Yesterday to amend a Clause in the Bill, intituled, An Act for the regulating the Coinage of the Silver Money of this Kingdom," do meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and that they do adapt the several Clauses in the Bill to the Clause agreed on this Day in the Committee of the whole House; and that a Clause this Day offered in the said Committee shall and is hereby referred to be considered by their Lordships; and further, that any Lord may offer at the said Committee, any Clauses to be added to the Bill, or any Amendments to be made thereunto."
