reciting that John Catesby, knight, one of the justices of the king of the
Common Bench, William Stokke[r], knight, and John Warde, citizens and
aldermen of London, Thomas Wyndesor and John Northwode, the elder,
esquires, and William Philipp, goldsmith, and John Berall, grocer
[citizens], of London, had, at the request of John Bamme, esquire,
by their writing indented, dated 27 June, 1 Richard III, demised to them
divers messuages, &c. late belonging to Richard Bamme, esquire, deceased,
within the city of London, the moiety of a messuage called 'Lyon Kay,' in
the parish of St. Botolph next Belyngesgate, and the fourth part of a
messuage called 'Dycekay,' in the parish of St. Dunstan 'in le Est,' Lon-
don; now, at the request of the said John Bamme, they have demised the
above mentioned messuages, &c. to the prior of the priory, or church, of
Holy Trinity, London, called Cristchirch, and the convent of the same, for
sixty years next to come, rendering therefore to the chief lords of the fee the

A. 9807. Indenture being the defeasance of a statute merchant,
acknowledged before the mayor and bailiffs of the town of Northampton, in
200l. at Christmas next by John son of William de Swyneford to Simon de
Crosholm, viz. if Margaret wife of the said Simon, and late the wife of
Robert de Craunford died in the lifetime of the said Simon and John and
of Emma, wife of the said John, and daughter of the said Robert, so that
the tenements formerly belonging to the said Robert and then in the hands
of the said Simon and Margaret, descended by hereditary right to the said
Emma; and if, thereupon, the said John secured within half a year of the
said Margaret's decease, an annuity to the said Simon of 100s. for life; and
if the said John and Emma his wife, after she reached her full age, upon
reasonable request by the said Simon, made sufficient security, so far as
they reasonably could, to the said Simon and Margaret, of all the lands,
&c, which the said Simon and Margaret then held, and which formerly
belonged to the said Robert de Craunford, to have and to hold to the said

de Edingtone; reciting that the dean had sued the said Gilbert before the
justices of the Bench in the quinzaine of Hilary, 4 Edward III, on a plea
that the said Gilbert and others had taken his beasts in the said Gilbert's
moor of Edyngdon; now it is agreed that the dean and his men and the
tenants of his deanery may depasture the said moor and similarly the said
William may depasture the dean's moor at Thurlemere; the said William
to compensate John Gillyng the dean's servant for his maltreatment of
