Their Majesties Answer to Addresses.

The Speaker reported Their Majesties Answer to the Address, "That the King accepted it very graciously, and returned His Thanks to the House; and declared that He would be always ready to do what should be for the Honour and Safety of the Nation.

"And Her Majesty was pleased to accept of the Address presented to Her very graciously, and returned Her Thanks to this House."

Wakes Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable William Wake Gentleman, and William Wake Doctor in Divinity to make Leases for Lives or Years, within the Manor of Shapwicke, in the County of Dorsett," with One Amendment.

Which was read, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Amendment.

Pollard versus Hungerford.

Upon reading the Petition of Margaret Cane, Guardian to Thomas Pollard, Respondent in this House; shewing, "That there being a new Trial directed in the King's Bench by Nisi Prius in Middl'x, and that Henry Stephens and Ursula Pollard, the Petitioner's most material Witnesses, being very aged and sick, and not able to go abroad, and in Danger of dying before the said Trial can be had; and praying that a Commission may issue out of the Court of Chancery, for taking the Depositions of the said Witnesses, to be made Use of at the said Trial; and that the Petitioner may be at Liberty to make Use of the Answers and Proofs in Chancery, as is usual in such Cases:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England do issue out a Commission, for examining the said Henry Stephens and Ursula Pollard, as desired, in order to have their Testimony made Use of at the said Trial; and that the Proofs and Answers in Chancery may also be then made Use of; and the other Side to have Notice hereof, and may cross-examine the Witnesses if they please.

Bp. Landaff, served with a Rule of the King's Bench.

The Lord Bishop of Landaffe acquainted the House, "That he had received a Rule of the Court of King's Bench, which he conceives to be a Breach of Privilege."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Bishop of Landaffe do state his Case in Writing; and the Consideration thereof is hereby referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges; who, having considered thereof, are to report to the House.

Moore versus Coote & al.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of Sir Phillip Coote and his Lady, "That the Lady Katherine Brabason, being equally concerned in Chancery, may be made Respondent also to the Petition of William Moore depending in this House:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Moore shall have Notice of this Request.

Indemnity Bill, for those who acted in Their Majesties Service.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to proceed on Heads for a Bill of Indemnity.

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported the Form of the Bill drawn by the Committee.

To which the House agreed.

Then,

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for preventing Suits against such as acted for Their Majesties Service, in Defence of the Kingdom."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this Bill shall be read on Wednesday next, at Twelve of the Clock; and all the Lords and Judges to be summoned then to attend.
