PRAYERS
Monopolists.
ORDERED, That these following shall be added to the Committee concerning Monopolists, viz. Sir James Thinne, Mr. Palmer, Mr. Whistler, Sir Hugh Cholmeley, Sir Tho. Bowyer, Sir Ed. Rodney, Sir Miles Fleetwood, Mr. Bellassis, Sir Simonds D'Ewes, Sir Wm. Allynson, Sir Peter Hayman, Mr. Whitehead, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Edw. Deering, the Knights and Citizens of London:
This Committee is to meet To-morrow at Two of Clock, in the Court of Wards.
Marlo Magne Election
Resolved, upon the Question, That the Election of Burgesses to serve in this present Parliament for Marlo Magna in Com. Buck', is totally void; because there was no due Notice given to the Electors: And therefore it is ordered, that all those that are returned, upon That Election, shall not sit here, upon that Election: And it is also ordered, that a Warrant issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, to the Clerk of the Crown, for a new Writ for Election of Two Burgesses, to serve for Marlo Magna, instead of those that are now returned upon this Election, thus void.
Person sent for.
Ordered, That John Moore, for his Misdemeanours, committed in the Managing of this Election, shall be sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House.
Marlo Magna Election.
Mr. Maynard's Report.-That a Precept was delivered to Mr. Moore, for the Election at Marlo Magna in Com. Buck', in due Time; that Moore being demanded, the Day before the Election, if he had the Precept or Warrant for Election, denied he had any Precept; and yet, the next Day, which was the Day of Election for Knights of the Shire of that County of Buck', a Quarter of an Hour before the Election, produces the Precept, in the Presence of Twenty or Thirty, and Proceeds to Election without any Warrant or Notice to any of the rest of the Town; whereupon Mr. Burlace and Mr. Ipsley were chosen Burgesses.-
Opinion of the Committee,-This is a void Election; because no timely Notice to the Electors: and That doth avoid the whole Election:-That Warrant for a new Writ ought to go forth; and that it was a Misdemeanour in Moore.
