PRAYERS.

Preachers thanked.

SIR Arthur Ingram and Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Two Members of this House, are appointed in the Name of the House, to give Thanks to the Two Gentlemen, Doctor Burgesse and Mr. Marshall, for the great Pains they took in the Sermons they preached Yesterday at the Request of this House.

Oxford Writ.

Ordered, A new Warrant to issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, for a new Election for a Burgess to serve for the City of Oxon, in the Place of the Lord Andevor, called by Writ to the Lords House.

Ecclesiastical Canons.

Ordered, Friday to be appointed by the House for the Debate of the Legality and Validity of the new Book of Canons; and to take some Course, by which the Warrants for the Commission, which was granted after the Parliament broke, might be here at the Time of the Debate; and the Warrant also for the Letters Patents; and the Book concerning the Grant of the Benevolence: And that the Grand Committee for Religion might sit Saturdays and Mondays.

Mr. Whistler, Mr. Selden, Sir Tho. Widrington, are appointed to get these Warrants, and such other Things, as shall be necessary to this Debate.

Earl of Straford.

Ordered, That no Member of this House shall visit the Earl of Straford, during the Time of his Restraint, without Licence first obtained from this House.

Conference with Lords.

Sir Tho. Roe reported from the Conference of the Committee of both Houses on Thursday last, in hæc Verba, viz.

Ordered, The Report, lately made by Sir Tho. Roe, from the Conference of the Committee of both Houses, on Thursday last, to be entered; together with the other Eleven particular Papers, delivered in by Sir Tho. Roe at the same Time; and, after they be entered, to be delivered to Sir Tho. Roe again; and all the Members, as please, to have Copies of them.

Referred to the Committee for the Clerk's Book, to set down the Entry of the Acknowledgment to be made to his Majesty and to the Lords Commissioners.

Impeachment of Earl of Straford.

Ordered, A Message to be sent to the Lords, to desire them, that they would please to appoint a Committee of a very few, that, in the Presence of some of this House, might take such Depositions, and examine such Witnesses as they should name, upon such Interrogatories and Questions, as shall be presented to them, by Order of this House, concerning the Earl of Straford; and the Interrogatories, Testimonies and Witnesses, to be kept private, until the Charge be made full and perfect.

Ordered, Mr. Pimme to go up with this Message, accompanied with so many as shall please to go.

Petition to King at York.

Resolved, upon the Question, That those Lords, which were Petitioners to his Majesty at York, in their Petition (a Copy whereof was here now read) have done nothing but what was legal, just, and expedient, for the Good of the King and Kingdom, and is now approved by the whole Body of the Commons.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Copy of the Petition now read, and formerly preferred by the Lords to his Majesty at York, shall be here entered.

Ordered, That the Grand Committee of the whole House, for the Northern Business, shall meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock; and Mr. Speaker to sit by.
