In one of these books is a list of Translators: John Griffith, John Jones, Evan Watkins, William Thomas, Philip Jones.
N.B.—Towards the end of the 17th century a practice grew up of styling all the fully admitted members of the Guild "Masters" (instead of "Brethren.") This involved altering the title of the two head officials from "Masters" to "Chief Masters." The reason lay probably in the fuller Guild privileges gradually conceded to the Journeymen.
