Porters at Buckingham House 1820–1830

The porters at Buckingham House were appointed by the lord steward. The head porter made £244 per annum; the assistant, £155; the second porter £146 10s and the third porter £138 10s. In 1830 they were absorbed into the gentlemen and assistant porters. (fn. 1)
