E. of Strafford, to answer at the First Meeting to do Business.
The Earl of Strafford taking Notice, "That, by Order of this House of the Twentieth of September last, he was allowed Time to put in his Answer to the Articles of Impeachment exhibited by the House of Commons against him, till the First of November next:"
And his Lordship desiring the Opinion of the House, "Whether he should put in his Answer the next Time their Lordships meet; or defer the same till the Meeting of the Parliament to do Business?"
Ordered, That the said Earl of Strafford have Time allowed, to put in his Answer to the said Articles, till the First Day of Meeting after Notice given by His Majesty for the Parliament to sit to do Business.
Message from the King, for both Houses to adjourn.
The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That he was commanded by His Majesty, to signify to their Lordships, That it is His Majesty's Royal Pleasure, that both Houses should adjourn to Saturday the Fifth Day of November next."
Accordingly,
Adjourn.
