The Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod acquainted the House, "That, in Obedience to their Lordships Order of Monday last, whereby he was directed to attach James Duke of Ormonde, he had made diligent Search and Inquiry after the said Duke of Ormonde, as well at the last and usual Places of his Abode, as elsewhere; but the said Duke is not to be found, so as that he may be attached, according as is commanded by the said Order."

Message to H. C. to aquaint them with it.

Then, a Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Hiccocks and Mr. Orlebar:

To acquaint them with the Return made by the said Gentleman Usher, as abovementioned.

Tanner's Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Estate late of John Tanner Esquire, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of his Debts," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and found the Allegations thereof to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had made several Amendments to the Bill."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

Bank Fund, enlarging, Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Fund of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, relating to Exchequer Bills; and for settling an additional Revenue of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Pounds per Ann. upon His Majesty, during His Life, for the Service of the Civil Government; and for establishing a certain Fund of Fifty-four Thousand Six Hundred Pounds per Ann. in order to raise a Sum, not exceeding Nine Hundred and Ten Thousand Pounds, for the Service of the Public, by Sale of Annuities after the Rate of Six Pounds per Cent. per Ann. redeemable by Parliament; and for satisfying an Arrear for Work and Materials at Bleinheim, incurred whilst that Building was carrying on at the Expence of Her late Majesty Queen Anne, of Blessed Memory; and for other Purposes therein mentioned."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Delawar reported from the Committee, That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time To-morrow.

Security of His Majesty's Person, &c. Bill.

The House (according to Order) proceeded to take into further Consideration the Report of the Amendments made by the Committee of the whole House to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the further Security of His Majesty's Person and Government; and the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princess Sophia, being Protestants; and for extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open and secret Abettors."

And the rest of the said Amendments were read, and severally agreed to by the House.

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time To-morrow.

Abuses in Elections, to prevent, Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual preventing the Abuses of Sheriffs and other Returning Officers, in not returning the Writs of Summons in due Time; and for preventing Bribery and Corruption in the Elections of Members to serve in Parliament," be read a Second Time on Tuesday next; and that all the Lords be summoned.
