PRAYERS.
Convoy of Arms to Chester for Ireland.
The Lord Chamberlain reported to this House, That he had moved the King, that the Sheriffs of the several Counties, through which the Carts laden with Arms are to pass, may be commanded to guard them to West Chester; and His Majesty is willing, according to the Desires of both Houses, to give Way thereunto."
Hereupon it is Ordered, That the Sheriffs in the Counties through which the said Carts and Waggons are to pass shall, in their several Precincts, guard and convey the said Arms until they shall be safely arrived at the City of West Chester.
English and Scotch Commissioners to treat about the Irish Affairs.
Ordered, That the Lord Keeper shall move the King, That a Commission may be directed to the English Commissioners of both Houses, to give them Power to treat with the Scotts Commissioners, concerning the Affairs of Ireland.
Bill for Relief of Captives in Turkey.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Relief of the Captives taken by the Turkish and Moorish Pirates, and to prevent the taking of others in Time to come.

Bill to raise Men for Ireland.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the better raising and levying of Soldiers, for the present Defence of the Kingdom of England and Ireland.
Which said Bill is committed to the Committee of the whole House; and, for the better Debate hereof, the House was put into a Committee during Pleasure; and, after a long Debate, the House was resumed. A Conference was resolved of with the House of Commons; and a Committee of Lords were appointed, to draw up Amendments and Alterations in the Bill, according to the Sense of the House upon the Debate, and to prepare Heads for the Conference.

Linea 6a, after the Word ["Affected"], leave out all the following Words unto the Word ["To"] in Linea 7a.
Linea 14a, after the Word ["Impressed"], add these Words ["or Compelled"].
Linea 17a, put out the Word ["Nevertheless"], and, instead thereof, put in the Word ["Therefore"].
Linea 41a, leave out the Words ["Such and"]
Linea 70a, after the Word ["Services"], leave out all the Words following till the Word ["That"] in Linea 72a.
Linea 104a, after the Word ["Upward"], leave out all that follows till the Word ["Or"] in the next Line.
Linea 166a, after the Word ["Degree"], leave out all that follows till the Word ["Or"] in the next Line.
Provided also, and be it Enacted, That this present Act shall not extend to the Impressing of any of the menial Servants of the Members, or Assistants, or Officers, of the Lords House of Parliament, or to the menial Servants of the Members or Officers of the House of Commons, or of any of the Inhabitants of the Isles of Wight, or Isle of Anglesey, or of any of the Cinque Ports, or the Members thereof.
Memorandum, That the House of Commons be informed, That, at the reading of the Bill, the King's Counsel excepting against the declaratory Clause in the Bill, after the Word ["Services"] in the 12th Line, to the Word ["Therefore"] in the Beginning of the 17th Line; this House thought fit to acquaint the House of Commons therewith, that so they might fortify that Clause with such Reasons as did induce them to insert that Declaration.
All the aforesaid Particulars, being read, were approved of by the House.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Hollis:
Message from the H. C. to desire that the Lords would continue sitting.
To desire their Lordships to sit some convenient Time this Night; for the House of Commons are in a Debate of a great Business, concerning which they intend to desire a Conference with this House.
The Answer hereunto returned is:

A Message was brought up from the House of Commons, by Mr. Goodwin:
Message from the H. C. for a Conference about the Impeachment against the Thirteen Bishops.
To desire a Free Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, presently, if it may stand with their Lordships Conveniency, concerning the Impeachment against the Thirteen Bishops.
The Answer returned is:

That this House will give a Free Conference presently, as is desired, in the Painted Chamber.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed; and it is Ordered, That the Report of this Conference shall be made To-morrow.
