PRAYERS.

The King will be present Tomorrow.

It was signified to the House, That the King hath appointed to come to the House To-morrow Morning, to give His Royal Assent to the Bill for Subsidies, and the Bill concerning the Pressing of Mariners.

Lady Purbeck's Cause.

Ordered, That the Lady Purbeck's Cause shall be heard before the Lords Committees for Petitions on Friday come Sevennight; and all Parties interested therein to have Notice of it.

Bishop's Cause.

Ordered, That Mr. Bishop's Cause shall be heard on Tuesday next, before the Lords Committees for Petitions.

Order concerning University and City of Oxford.

Ordered, That any Three of the Lords Committees on each Side, appointed to settle and compose the Differences between the University and City of Oxford, shall have Power to proceed according to a former Order made by this House.

Subsidy Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the further Relief of His Majesty's Army, and the Northern Parts of this Kingdom; and, being put to the Question, it was agreed to pass as a Law, nemine contradicente.

Ordered, That the Earl of Leycester be added to the Committee for opening Letters, and to all the Standing Committees.

Abbreviating Michaelmas Term.

The Earl of Warwicke reported the Bill for the Limitation and Abbreviation of Michaelmas Term, as fit to pass, with some Amendments; which were read Twice, and approved of.

The Lord Goringe had Leave to go into Sussex and Kent, for a few Days.

The Petition of Geo. Manley and his Wife referred.

Upon reading the Petition of George Manley, Esquire, and Eliz. his Wife; it was Ordered, That the further Consideration thereof be referred to the Committee for Petitions, to be heard on Tuesday come Fortnight; and all Parties interested therein to attend.

Ld. Audley versus Ld. Cottington.

Ordered, That the Lord Awdley shall have an Order to bring in the Inquisition taken after his Father's Death, and such other Records which he shall give a Note of, to be made Use of at the Hearing of the Cause between him and the Lord Cottington.

House to be called.

Ordered, That the House be called on Friday Morning next peremptorily.

Mr. Alexander's Cause referred.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Star-chamber do sit on Monday next, in the Afternoon at Two a Clock, to hear Mr. Alexander's Cause.

Sir Lewis Dives's Petition referred.

Upon the Petition of Sir Lewis Dyves, who alledged That he is scandalized by Captain Roper and others, for rescuing of Sir Edward Stradling, Baronet;" it is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee for Privileges, who sit on Monday next in the Afternoon, at Two a Clock; at which Time Sir Lewis Dyves is to be present, to make good his Petition; and all the Parties mentioned in the Petition to be warned to attend at the Time aforesaid.

Harwood and Drinkwater sentenced for Contempt of the House.

Ordered, That Robert Harwood and Tho. Drinkewater, for their Contempt to the Order of this House, shall forthwith stand committed to The Fleet; and, upon Monday the 17th of this Instant May, shall be set upon the Pillory, in The New Palace at Westm. there to remain Two Hours in the Morning, with Papers on their Heads, with this Superscription: videlicet, For disobeying and using scornful Speeches AGAINST an Order of the Upper House of Parliament; and afterwards they are to stand in the Pillory upon a Market-day at Borne, in the County of Lincolneshire, for Two Hours Space, with the like Papers on their Heads.

Sentence against Grumett for Contempt.

Ordered, That Jo. Grumett do make his Submission here at this Bar, for disobeying the Order of this House, which accordingly he did; and likewise he is to make a Submission at Borne, on a Market-day, publicly, before a Justice of the Peace of that County; and that he be discharged out of the Messengers Hands.
