Letter of summons sent to his vicar because he has no certain place or domicile by reason of his preb., so possibly this preb., 30 May 1284 (C. 523). Also can. of Hereford, treas. of York 1265-c. 1282 (York Minster Fasti I 26). Inherited family estates 24 Nov. 1282; married c. 1285 (ibid.).]

Does not occ. in letters of summons 28-30 May 1284 (C. 523-4), but occ. this preb. at el. 26 June 1284, his name written later than other names in list (C. 517, app. 2), so prob. received preb. in interim. Occ. as can. 14 June 1285 (IV/C.4/41) and in papal disp. for pluralism, at king's request, 20 March 1291 (Reg. Nic. IV, no. 4606, cal. CPL I 530-1).
