Ordinance for equipping a Fleet, pressing Seamen, &c.

The Lord Admiral presented to this House a new Ordinance, for the better raising, levying, and impressing, of Ships and Vessels, Mariners, Sailors, and others, for (fn. 1) the present guarding of the Seas, and necessary Defence of the Realm, and other His Majesty's Dominions; which being read Thrice, this House approved thereof, and Ordered to communicate the same to the House of Commons, to desire their Concurrence therein.

Message to the H. C. with it; and for an Answer about the Letter, &c. from the associated Counties of Essex, &c.

And accordingly it was sent down to the House of Commons, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath, to desire their speedy Concurrence therein.

2d, To desire they will take into Consideration the Letter and Instructions from the Seven associated Counties, and return an Answer.

Ordinance for Martial Law.

The Ordinance concerning Martial Law was reported from the Committee, and re-committed.

Ordinance to amend the One concerning Newport Pagnell.

Next, an Ordinance was presented to the House, for the better Execution of the Ordinance formerly made, concerning the Garrison of Newport Pagnall, and read Twice.
