Message from the H. C. for Committees to consider of a Method for restoring Peace, and of a Treaty.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Booth, &c.; who brought up a Vote, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence, touching appointing a Committee to consider what hath been offered to the King, and what He hath offered, &c.

Ordered, That this House agrees to this Vote; and these Lords following are appointed to be Committees; videlicet,

Any Five; meet this Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber, at Three a Clock; and to have Power to adjourn from Time to Time.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That this House agrees to the Vote now brought up; and have appointed a Committee of Nine Lords, the Quorum to be any Five, to meet in the Painted Chamber, this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.

Donne, Canon of Christ Church.

Ordered, That Thursday next all Parties concerned shall be heard, touching the making of Doctor Donne One of the Canons of Christchurch; and nothing to be concluded in the Ordinance concerning the Canons of Christ's Church until they be heard.

Message from the H. C. about Rolse's Examination;—and about the Ordinance for Lincolnshire.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Wheeler; who brought up a Vote concerning the Examination of Major Rolph, &c. wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

2. To desire Expedition in the Ordinance concerning settling the County of Lyncolne in a Posture of Defence.

The Answer returned was:

That this House will take this Message into Consideration, and will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

E. of Mulgrave and Sir P. Pindar.

Ordered, That the Cause between the Earl of Mulgrave and Sir Paul Pyndar, concerning the Matter of the Possession of the Allum Mines, shall be heard To-morrow Morning, by Counsel on both Sides, peremptorily.

Prentice and Frere.

Ordered, That the Writ of Error wherein Prentice Plaintiff and Frere is Defendant, shall be argued, by Counsel on both Sides, on Thursday next.

Ware and Davenport.

Ordered, That the Writ of Error, wherein Ware is Plaintiff and Davenport Defendant, shall be argued, by Counsel on both Sides, on Thursday next.

Message to the H. C. about the following Particulars.

A Message was sent [ (fn. 1) to the House] of Commons, by Doctor Heath and Doctor

1. The Report concerning the Great Seal of Ireland.

2. To recommend to them the Petition of Mrs. Joane Parris.

3. To recommend to them the Petition of Suzan Fulcher and Rob't Rosse.

4. To recommend to them the Petition of Doctor Edw. Odlinge.

5. To put them in Mind of the Petition of Sir Frederick Thyn.

6. To put them in Mind of the Lord Powlett's Petition.

Colonel Thorp, a Pass.

Ordered, That Colonel Thorpe shall have a Pass, to go into France, to his Regiment there with his Three Servants and their Horses, and Necessaries for their Occasion.

Pacy released.

Ordered, That Stephen Pacy, Bail of Captain Bushell, shall forthwith be released of his present Restraint.

Ordinance for a Committee to redress Breaches of the Public Faith.

An Ordinance was presented to the House, appointing a Committee of both Houses, to hear and determine all Complaints touching the Breach of the Articles of Oxford, and other Capitulations made by the General; which being read, was Agreed to, and ordered to be sent to the House of Commons for their Concurrence.

Faweet and Kirk.

Ordered, That Fosset shall put in his Answer to Kirk's Petition, by Friday next.

Reduced Officers Petition, for Arrears.

The Petition of some Reduced Officers was read, concerning their Arrears; and ordered to be sent to the House of Commons.

Order for calling Serjeants.

Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to consider of the Order for referring it to the Judges, for to present the Names of such Lawyears as they think (fn. 2) fit to be made Serjeants at Law.

The House being resumed;

The Question being put, "Whether to agree to this Order?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Committee to consider of a Treaty for Peace.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider what the Parliament hath done towards the settling of a Peace, and what the King hath offered, and what is fit further to be offered to the King, for His Satisfaction, for a settling of a speedy and wellgrounded Peace; and that the said Committee do also consider of a Time, Place, and other Circumstances, where Addresses may be conveniently made to the King."

Spademan to be instituted to Althorp.

Ordered, That Doctor Aylett do give Institution and Induction unto Tho. Spademan Clerk, to the Rectory of Althorpe, in Com, Lincolne, void by the Death of Jermey Phillipps, the late Incumbent; Salvo Jure cujuscunque; Granted by the Great Seal.

Morgan versus Gough, in Error.

Ordered, That the Cause between Jo. Morgan Plaintiff, and Jo. Gough Defendant, upon a Writ of Error depending in this House, shall be argued at this Bar, on the 29th June Instant, at which Time the Parties are to attend, with their Counsel.
